What games are you playing?

I played it for the first time a few months ago, but they had problems updating the Linux version and it lagged behind Windows.
I almost forgot about the game - until they released an update, bringing it on par with the Windows version.
Now I’m back at it and quite impressed, although it’s not finished yet, some classes and skill trees are missing.

So good decision to put it on your list

Just saw this game on Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/972660/Spiritfarer/
It’s rated extremely well and has native Linux support, I think it’s going to be my next purchase, got to support as many developers making native Linux games as I can!

I’ve seen :pirate_flag: already, so pretty sure it will work on Wine

It’s listed as “borked” on ProtonDB. Doesn’t even launch the downloader.

Requires some wait time, too fresh

This game requires Windows 10

That is easy to obfuscate on Wine i think

Well there is some hope that someone will come up with a dirty hack or some Wine magic

Yeap, it exists and works okay, the only downside is that it runs in offline mode of course, so you do lose out on the real time air traffic, weather, etc.

That’s actually a bonus, given who have made this game…
Online traffic is last thing you want from Microsoft

That’s the second reason why I would want to buy the game. First is the graphics

Maybe…sandbox it or something, come on!

I have it on Windows (I know, I know, but I do need it for work ) my system consists of a 3900X, 32GB 3600MHz, and a 2080 Ti, all overclocked to the edge of stability. It’s true what they say, this game is like the new, “Can it run Crysis?”. On my system at 1440p, I’m lucky to hit 50 fps on Ultra sometimes :upside_down_face:

Good to know  Also a 3900X here, but a less performant 5700. Same screen resolution. Hmm…

According to this video which benchmarks 21 different GPUs at various resolution and quality: https://youtu.be/y6RIvvMPBTg

Your 5700 at 1440p should get ~30 fps, which in all honesty is perfectly fine for this type of game imo.

Can you fly to North Korea, i wonder?

That’s actually a great question, you can but I imagine that it won’t be topographically correct

The geographic data, along with all the real-time stuff is streamed off of Microsoft’s servers, and chew through a hefty amount of data doing it too. Not surprising really given they’ve more or less accurately modelled the entire Earth’s surface in the game, or as accurately as Bing Maps can (the source for their data).

Or you could run it via a windows virtual desktop. Maybe…

Love love love Witcher 3. Again one of my all time favourite games.

I put that on my steam wishlist too on Saturday. I think the art style of it and the concept look really good  Plus I love the name

I’ve noticed that some games doesn’t even start with wininet disabled, as this is essential component for some startup-checkups for many programs…

So universal way would be only firewall i guess
