I always knew that weâd convert you to KDE one day ![]()
Nah ⌠just saw you KDE folks needed a helping GNOME hand ![]()
Thx, will check when Iâm home. But I DEFINITLY didnât change any settings lately.
Okay, I take everything back, I said earlier about PLasma/Wayland because since the recent sddm update the DE freezes on Wayland and not on X11.

I must be doing something wrong. I have been running KDE with Wayland for 3 weeks now without any real problems. I respectfully apologize for this offense!
Me too and itâs working flawlessly. I even have it running on Nvidia.
Edit: On my Ryzen with AMD

Iâm using an old RX 580, may it remain with me for a long time!
The RX580 & RX590 are great cards. I also have parts for a whole new system and i got a RX 6750 XT waiting for it.
All Intel here and no problems.
Well besides that fact it does run well. I donât see any difference than X11 other than that and also simple screen recorder doesnât work on Wayland too!
Maybe you are interested in building it yourself: https://github.com/MaartenBaert/ssr/tree/wayland
There is an experimental fork in AUR as well.
I havenât tried none of these so I couldnât vouch for either one.
How is that going to make it work on Wayland? I just thought that it isnât supported and only works with X11?
I donât know. Havenât tried them.
From tibbits here and there online there still plenty out there that Wayland doesnât play nice with which take me back to my original conclusion which is making Wayland the default with Plasma 6.0 is ASSinine
In my experience, OBS Studio supports the native KDE Wayland well when using AMD GPU.
KColorChooser was improved on Wayland and detects what color outside its window without any issue, this was new to me.
I am about to buy a new graphics card. On Kleinanzeigen I looked, the RX 580 are there still with 130 - 150 traded.
The 6750s are not affordable for my budget.
I have now decided on the RX 6600 series.
Gigabyte is 200⏠for me and fits perfectly for my needs.
Oh sorry, itâs going Off Topic ![]()
