Yet Another Monochrome Icon Set For KDE Plasma

usr>share>applications.
Example: LACT would be io.github.ilya_zlobintsev.LACT.desktop

yes open that file (with text editor) and scroll down to the icon=

here is a sample from brave.desktop

TryExec=brave
Exec=brave %U
Terminal=false
Icon=brave-desktop

Got it…

So this…

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=LACT
Comment=Control your graphics cards
GenericName=GPU Control Application
Exec=lact gui
Icon=io.github.ilya_zlobintsev.LACT
Categories=System;
Keywords=AMD;GPU;Radeon;

would make the icon name: io.github.ilya_zlobintsev.LACT and that’s what @dirn would need?

Thanks for the suggestion, @UncleSpellbinder. I’ll rename the root folder to YAMIS when generating the tarball.

Your icons and @DenalB’s are still in progress :slight_smile:

Excellent!

Really appreciate the work you’ve put into this icon set. Not to mention being tolerant of so many app-icon requests. :vulcan_salute:

Absolutely fantastic…

Do you want any additional icon sets to change? I was thinking if you’re overburden we could help facilitate you by dropping hints how to do this ourselves with ‘Inkscape’ and maybe pass them on to you so can add them to your Monochrome set. I’ve got probably a dozen or more left that are still colorized in my menu system. . .

Rich :wink:

Yep, feel free to make requests! Just share the list of icon file names you’d like to see changed. You can usually find them in the .desktop files, located at /usr/share/applications or ~/.local/share/applications. A bit of digging should do the trick.

I’m definitely open to collaborating — always nice to have more hands (and ideas) on deck!
Here’s the repo if you want to contribute directly: yet-another-monochrome-icon-set
The only requirement: keep it monochrome and adaptive :slightly_smiling_face:

If you’re interested in trying Inkscape, go for it! I’m still learning myself, so we can figure things out together. Feel free to join the discussion here: Tips & Tricks: Inkscape
Not sure what you’d like to know — or maybe you already know more than I do :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Heads up:
Inkscape is kinda addictive. One moment you’re tweaking icons… next thing you know, it’s 3am and you’ve redesigned your whole theme :laughing:

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about :roll_eyes: :face_with_bags_under_eyes:

I’ve been thinking about it too — since the original logo has a circle around it, it makes more sense for the monochrome version to include one as well.

Edit:
To be included in the upcoming release.
