For me, gnome-menus has never been missing from an Arch Gnome install in the first place. IIRR, not even on EnOS. ![]()
might be wrong . that look like theme problem
or vm ware
Oh yes!! - Good you came to think of it!
Although, applications-menu is the most basic gnome-extension of any and all.
It has been carried over from each Gnome revision to the next without any delay so far…
But yes, @Shjim - I think you are right!

application-menu broke time ago. ( if remember correct) I never use + no see point of it on Gnome . Guess if you like Window/KDE look feel you no happy. such is life ![]()
I’ve been regularly testing Gnome, until v.43. The menu was always there without any ado. It was even automatically installed when installing gnome-extensions. ![]()
like i say . " i no use that junk"
you may be correct , make zero different to me on Gnome

The Application Menu is provided by the package gnome-shell-extensions.
This package is not installed in a default installation of EnOS’ GNOME.
The users needs to install it themselves.
Even so, they might end up with a broken menu as it has been in the case above because gnome-menus is not a hard dependency of the mentioned package but optional.
Mystery resolved!
So i was right. You have to install the gnome-software store and the gnome-software-packagekit-plugin-git.
Edit: Otherwise when you click on the apps or setting icon in the top right menu the panel is empty which i personally do not like.
Edit2: This is two separate things. As having the application menu is different and that doesn’t populate the apps screen which is what i was referring to.
is there any problem i should solve?
This is not needed to have a functional Desktop i think?
No. I don’t think so.
Those are mostly “legacy” extensions in my opinion. It can always be installed by users themselves.
But it is up to you if you want to add it or not. Absolutely not necessary for a functional desktop.
Nah… who needs gnome, anyway? ![]()
I have none of these packages and yet that section is populated for me.
If you are up for testing, uninstall these packages. Install malcontent and reboot for good measure.
Check if that section is populated or not.
Which ones are you referring to? The gnome-software and package kit?
Edit: malcontent is already installed.
Go, gnome-software, go…

Are you referring to the apps list or the applications? The apps list is what i am talking about that is under settings.
Yes.This.
I don’t use the Application Menu.
The only reason is because we have a panel in settings (apps) that isn’t populated so it bugs me!
If i uninstall both the gnome-software and the package kit I’m sure that the apps panel will be blank.
