What is your home internet and wireless mobile plan?

Would you consider using 5g as a fiber replacement? Main downside of my setup is that if the local mast goes down, my internet and phone are automatically crippled. However, this has not happened at all since I moved to this setup in 2021…

It’s still DSL in my remote part of the world.

Download: 20 Mbps
Upload: 0.5 Mbps

Just a few years ago I was lucky to get even 1 Mbps, download, so the situation is improving.

Cellphone connectivity isn’t possible at my home. My partner has a cellphone, but she uses it via wi-fi at home, and it’s also useful when she travels. I don’t own a cellphone.

BASED

Based? I had to look up the term, but the excellent animation already gave away the definition. :sunglasses:

When my partner is at work (nearby, so likewise in our rural part of the world, which means connecting her cellphone via wi-fi), or while she travels, she communicates with me via XMPP. She uses the Conversations app on Android and I use the Pidgin app on Linux. It works perfectly. I really have no need of a cellphone.

Well exactly…nobody needs to get snooped by feds :joy:
I only use Session messenger with my friends and family…those of them who are smart to do that anyway.

Yes definitly an upgrade. And you can literally send shitstorms to the recipient.

If you live close enough from the antenna; yes
i live a little too far away from it so i only get ~35mb/s

but it’s a little more reliable(so far) than the old dsl

thank you librewolf. no buttons work. no cut and paste works.

BTW–which of those 4 buttons gave you the false coordinates?
I want that extension…

Which info is this hiding exactly? Only asking out of curiosity

beats me since nothing works on my page. was responding to this post:

wondering which button or extension got him the Thailand coordinates.

Unless he was in Thailand and it went over my head.

Might be faking a location is pretty easy on android but I’ve never tried on PC to do it or hide it too much, as long as it isn’t pointing directly at my house I think I’m ok, geolacting shows me quite a bit away from my actual location

same. did another one of those where-am-i’s for the helluva it and was within 10 miles of the ip address.
but depending on your ISP, switch locations, traffic routes, and day, I’m usually “a bit away” or in a different part of the state altogether.
all good.

Yer in theory it should pretty much pinpoint me I think as I live less than 500 metres away from the tower that I get my internet from unless its getting it from the city where is shows but that seems way too far for me

Great to see another SPN user!

Do you use cellular data?

If so the IP address you will get is “pulled” from a pool and may change over time. That is why your detected location seems to be far away from your actual location.

Cool, I watched something a bit back now that said something similar.

Fibre Optic + 5G

Sweet mother of…

That is outrageus, indeed…

My internet plans are both mobile broadband.
Phone: 300Mbps (19,90 €/month)
Home mobile wifi: 200 Mbps (16,99 €/month)

So not very speedy, but it’s enough for my needs.

If my home wasn’t wired with CAT5 and had CAT6 instead, I would definitely upgrade to the 3gig plan my ISP provides. Unfortunately, from my understanding, with the current wiring, it would be pointless.
