Haha no I discovered that long ago ![]()
So, this is the new joke thread?
And don’t try and ride it.
I wish! ![]()
I can not mute or ignore anyone as I might miss something they posted. It probably won’t be about me but it might be and I can’t help it I am nosey.
hehehe same gen as me. ![]()
Unfortunately,
can’t express how cute they are. Maybe this will do it
(but even that probably doesn’t do them justice)
hehehehe I know right, the way they wrap their arms and legs around her fingers is beyond cute! ![]()

In my forum travels I like to think that every thread can be a joke thread. Just have to be carefull, and not stray too far, or too long off topic ![]()
Humor is good as long as it’s appropriate.
Don’t be the Avon lady (story from youth: It’s a beauty lines product that was sold by roaming agents when I was a youngster. The Avon lady had a habit of showing up when you least wanted her, like dinner time, and not departing until you bought something to make her leave. We (as a family) would see her coming and the entire family would pretend to not be home…yes we would hide). Don’t be the Avon lady and make us hide.
What’s appropriate? Who defines what is or is not appropriate? If someone can’t take a joke about their religious, political views, or country, that by itself says more about that person’s character than anything else.
This situation with the joke thread reminds me of those people who buy a ticket to a stand-up comedy show and then get offended by some joke or punchline. WTF?
People nowadays get offended very easily, especially online.
I’m almost 52 years old, so let me tell you something that I learned over more than 30 years spent online:
No one cares about your opinion or feelings!
Want to make a difference? Do something usefull it in the Real World, not in the I can be and do whatever I want World! Then you will get my respect, even if we don’t share the same views or opinions.
Sorry about this rant! I see myself out ![]()
Wow peek snowflake-isum here now my TOTALLY normal post was flagged “removed” ![]()
If anyone saw my post? Can you explain what was wrong with it?
because I have no clue nor did I break any rule.
![]()
Because you are going on and on about it, even after explaining to you what the direction of the forum is going to be from now on.
We created this project with our distro at the centre of it. So, this is a Linux tech support forum, not a social media channel.
Nobody from the team is censoring anybody; we just didn’t start this project to police the forum.
You can either accept it and join us with EndeavourOS in mind or choose to leave and move on with your life.
Beyond the core reasons this wonderful forum exists, as @Bryanpwo has clarified, with its need to focus on EOS and Linux, there is a larger societal issue…
Much confusion in our shared culture stems from the mistaken idea that we have the right not to be offended.
When we assume we have such a right, much trouble begins. ![]()
I think another core reason for this issue is that there seems to be this confusion about that people do not recognize their own capability of being offended; when we start calling other people “snowflakes” or “karen’s” or whatever, it tells that yes, on that moment we are offended.
That’s human nature. Also, anonymous discussion allows us to behave like we would not do in public.
