What games are you playing?

For some reason Star Wars Jedi Survivor is working way better then it did a year ago when i used Pop! OS (playing the game with my bro’s account). In Pop! OS i couldn´t max out the settings, i had to set it to high and use AMD FidelityFX to get decent framerates. Now with EndeavourOS i can set the settings to epic and enable NVIDIA DLSS. The frames are perfect and the game runs butter smooth!. So i assume it has something to do with the nvidia drivers/vulkan or mesa…but whoah total new experience for me.

This is somewhat similar to my experience running Tomb Raider 2013 in MX Linux with the same system. Performance tanks out of the box, and needs tweaking.

Maybe Pop!_OS is not as properly configured as I thought. Or maybe it’s just a Debian/Ubuntu issue. Or maybe just a ymmv thing.

Started Hi Fi Rush. It’s great and a refreshing labour of love in a cynical age. Too bad I have the musical, and especially rhythm, abilities of a dead fish. I’m getting DESTROYED. I’ve not had a fight where I score above C for rhythm and i tremble before the guitar hero-like qtes. Highly recommend.

Also replayed Alan Wake 1 in preparation for playing 2 for the first time. Holds up amazingly, stoked for 2 now!

I remember getting this for free as a kid with a box of cereal, think it was Nutru Grain

Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire, love games like this where I can play through many different ways.

Some ingame shots, settings still on epic.

I never got to play this game as a child, This game itself is the same age as me (The original, not the gold version). But I have played a lot of old games though and enjoy them.

I was 10 when it came out. I remember mum used to only let us use the computer for 1 hour a day. The first game I ever played was Catacomb on DOS, I have it now on GOG along with a heap of others that I grew up with or wished I could have played as a kid.

Must have been interesting to play these games when they come out. Most of these old games I know are from my brother who is older and played games before me and played games on Commodore 64 and Amiga. Some of these games such as Dungeon Keeper and Theme Hospital I used to watch him play so I am playing them myself now.
