What games are you playing?

Last console i had was PS2 which is super cool to me still, with some exclusives like The Warriors

But to me PC gaming will be always better for one single reason - you can mod, config, hack anything you want!

P.S. @dodgypast thx, that’s cool small guide

Yeah I have a wii u, but I don’t like playing it. Only game I completed on there was AC3.

I loved the Wii though and agree with you @anon31687413 that consoles can be great for competitive gaming. Me and my sisters were always playing Wii Sports & Mario Kart against each other. :joy::joy:

I am considering getting the switch though for Mario Kart. And pokemon sword or shield (Not sure which I’d buy first)

What does this add to steam? Can it play windooze games on steam on Linux?

yes.

You can check which games work here:

Wii Sports was fantastic. Especially bowling. Tons of fun, and one broken TV

I wonder if anyone here have tried Half-Life: Alyx with their new steam gear?

My friend from Berlin who’s really into VR stuff as dev and gamer said it was mind-blowing experience :exploding_head:

This is why I dual boot, I don’t like fighting to get a game to work.
I still play games and do testing on Linux though.
One day when gaming becomes smooth on Linux I’ll convert 100%.

But isn’t dual-boot itself a fight of some sort?
I gave up on it because I found it terribly annoying.

I’m into “Grim Dawn” at the moment, nice game similar to “Diablo II”.

How did you manage to start Guild Wars 2 in Linux? I tried it some time ago with the help of “Play on Linux” but with no success…

If you’re into that type of games, have a look at “Last Epoch”.
Native Linux version included

Everyone,

I am enjoying this thread immensely. Just a quick comment. Since this is a gaming thread I am not overly concerned with some of the off topic posts. As long as everyone is ok with it

That being said perhaps someone would also like to start a steam tips and tricks thread?

Ah! Thank you very much, Sir!

This “Lutris” must be examined :face_with_monocle:

I’ll kick it off with easy guide so it would be good starting hub for any advises, tricks etc, just give me some time for good writeup, too much work now

I hope it’s not as buggy as “Wolcen”

Apparently it is Vulkan native! If you search around their is a project working on getting it to run sans the VR part.

I haven’t played Wolcen ye, but if you read the comments and reviews on Last Epoch, it seems to be far less buggy. I’m enjoying it so far. Big plus for me is native Linux version.
Feels pretty complete for an early access game.

Oh yes it is, the only problem with this game is obviously you need extreme gear to play it nicely :upside_down_face:

Curious if anyone else does some emulation on Linux.

I’ve been playing Mario Odyssey on the Switch emulator and Demon Souls on the PS3 one.

Get to know Lutris, and GOG which sells DRM free games and allows you to download a copy, unlike Steam. Then you can use Lutris (Proton/GloriousEggroll) to easily setup your GOG or many standalone games. GOG doesn’t require a “spy client” either.
