I don’t think Rick is trolling, I fully believe he is genuine in his beliefs, and well-meaning. He is just greatly mistaken.

I do believe the same… So far, everyone was able to say what they believe, and that is just awesome.
I would say that there is a long time that I don’t see a place in which we are able to say the things we are saying here.
This topic just showed to me how great EnOS community is, we all are in the same boat, different views and still, we don’t disrespect each other.

I was just thinking, if even a company like apple is worried about it breaking and rendering encryption null and void, that’s… Impressive.

I think it’s more about control, Meta and Apple = NSA backdoors and mass surveilance, now they basically don’t want to give it all away for UK (coz we’re not living in globalist hellhole just yet) or make special programs exclusively for them!

They’re a bit of odd one in terms of similar stuff based on countries and markets, for example:
- Google completely bend to all China censorship demands
- Google completely ignores Russian censorship demands, even though it cost them a lot of money
What i’m sure of however, at some point they’ll be first to implement device-level scanning on their Android smartphones, so no amount of GrapheneOS could help heal that, hopefully it won’t be Pixel 8.
All they have to do is develop their platform application so that the senders message is scanned before it is encrypted and sent. If anything suspicious comes up then it is flagged and automatically backed up for review before being encrypted and sent. What’s app is already doing this in a different way.
I don’t use Whatsapp since a long time.
I was using Telegram but I stopped with that too, some things happened here in my country that I don’t approve, so I just deleted my account and removed the app.
Now, I just use Signal…
Much better advice is to use Session, because it completely eliminates chances of correlation between you and your contacts and not knowing your phone number at all, but it’s based on Signal
All other messengers are flawed by design.
