The system refuses to boot on any computer (HP & Dell) that I use

Hello guys i’ve a big issue regarding EndeavourOS and no way to solve it.

I run this system (KDE) for more than 1 year and so far it works smoothly and i was very happy whit it.

Since one week and some update I’m going crazy !

the system refuses to boot on any computer (HP & Dell) that I use.
After several repair attempts, I tried to reinstall the system on a different SSD. This morning, I recovered my files, reinstalled my applications: everything works perfectly. I restarted my system (after update) and again, impossible to boot on my SSD. I restarted my computer on a Debian 10: opening the directory, the EndeavourOS disk is present, the files are accessible, but impossible to boot on the SSD.

Does anyone have an idea?

This looks more like something you setup the same way on both systems that is causing the issue… or the reason is a different one…
But to get anything we need some more information about system hardware and drivers in use for GPU, kernel installed… plus mainly a boot log… and info on if it is UEFI system may simply set some options in firmware wrong or the got resetted… like secure boot / legacy boot …

If system is not booting you can use LiveISO and chroot into system (to get logs and also to fix stuff):

Right i’ve no access to EndeavourOS, i’m running Debian system.

What i’m sure about
It’s not a hardware problem : i’m running on a SSD on the my Dell computer
I’m pretty sure it’s not a SSD problem, because everything was working this morning.

cause of this i give the hint to use liveiso and chroot into installed EndeavourOS, or at least check if you can access the drive frome live session of the ISO :wink:

Ok, i can access my drive from Debian. Is it what you mean ? Or do i have to launch my ISO USB Endeavour in order to access my system ??

to make use of arch-chroot you need to boot with an arch-based ISO/system

Can you boot to a TTY (edit the grub cmdline and add 3 then F10 to boot)?

and /dev/sdc looks like windows installed in legacy mode… or after installing debian and use the same ESP?

yes as i wrote it i’m running KDE and also running Nvidia graphics for Arch.

I was able to boot on the Grub, then the system freeze

fortunately i use a HDD for back-up. SSD is only for the system thus i keep a trace of my files on it. But i’m not sure the problem come from the SSD, because i had the same issue with a Crucial 500G° SSD
