The main website and Discovery are down due to severe compromise

As you might have noticed, our main website and our wiki, Discovery, are having issues due to a severe compromise at the WordPress backend.

We are shutting down both websites and are going to replace the main website with an Astro based one.. This can take some more hours, before our website is back online. But we are working hard to get us back up running again.

For the moment, we are working on the main website for a quick replacement, Discovery will take longer. Unfortunately, therefore, our wiki will be unavailable for some time.

We regret having to take this decision, and hope you will understand the situation.

followup:

We live in a day-in-age of spammers and hackers, unfortunately. You, and your dev team do what you can in whatever time it takes. We understand 100%.

The new main website is available now and no longer using WordPress.

You guys rock. :clap:t3:

Search results are also back to normal - great job by the EOS team, as usual.

Thanks for your hard work.

I hope you can now enjoy some time off the rest of this weekend.

As a person who has seen this happen elsewhere… I have found mkdocs (combined with mkdocs-material) to be an excellent (and more secure) option. https://squidfunk.github.io/mkdocs-material/

If I’m honest, I prefer the new look site much better. It’s cleaner and responds faster, and easier to navigate. Great work, team!

@sradjoker

Some of my browsers are blocking direct navigation to www.endeavouros.com, whereas direct navigation to endeavouros.com works fine. Other browsers, though, are allowing the redirection from www.endeavouros.com to endeavouros.com. The problem seems to be that the SSL/TLS certificate for the site, under Subject Alt Names, shows only endeavouros.com, not www.endeavouros.com:

endeavouros.com

Edit: The forums are using a SSL/TLS certificate with broader coverage under Subject Alt Names:

endeavouros.com
www.endeavouros.com
forum.endeavouros.com
arm.endeavouros.com
discovery.endeavouros.com

I run a couple of Wordpress sites myself. Can you share what the compromise was? DM if you can share.

here this is what was happening

I remember reading several posts about that.

Wordpress is da poop anyway, has been for years now. I personally use Ghost for my blog now. Never heard of Astro before, must give it a looky-see
