Can confirm.
Or at least it was! I’m over the fish bowl thing. I wanted something truly beautiful. Bye bye Lian LI Evo. Hello Fractal North!

Fish bowl? What do you mean? I thought you were getting a different case? This one is okay. Was the other one not available? Same parts from the other case except for the cooler?
Google fish bowl of cases. It’s what everyone has been calling the all glass cases for the last few years. Like my former lian li O11 Evo I just moved out of into this Fractal North case.
This is my new case. It’s one of the most beautiful cases arguably ever made. This was my second choice. I was originally waiting for the Lian LI o11 mini V2. It went on pre order last week and I’m not overly impressed and I’m officially over the fish tank look. I wanted something a little more beautiful and I’m not the biggest fan of 10 RGB fans.
I’ve never heard this before but maybe that’s coming more from the gaming sector? I do like the North cases and hadn’t noticed them before this. I do have to agree with you about not being a fan of the RGB look.
So did you just swap out your case and put on the new cooler?
Edit: I do see my supplier does sell the Fractal Design
Very Nice!
It started out there since that was initially the market, but It’s been used to describe all glass cases for a few years now at least.
Cooler has been on for a while. Everything was removed from my Evo Sunday. Only thing really new other than the case is the fans. It’s a Noctua u12a. D15 was too big and according to all tests the cooling capacity is within a couple degrees anyway.
That case is not cheap here BTW $209.99 + taxes. But, I do like it!
If you think this one is pricey my last one was a lot more lol
It’s only $140 USD
I’m just saying cases have gotten much more expensive over the years. Gone are the $69 cases. You want a decent one you have to spend a lot more. $140 US is $192.80 Cdn but they are a little more than that here from the Computer parts sellers i use.
Edit: It counts more what’s inside but obviously the aesthetics matter also.
This is actually cheap compared to my last one .
I tend to like expensive things. I work hard accordingly.
I was considering the new Lian LI mini V2 which is only $90. I wanted to get smaller than what I had.
Then I just didn’t want anymore big glass things for now, and this topped my list.
Runner up was the Asus GT302. But it feels a little too industrial and not quite enough office.
My next build will be an itx build. Either Thermaltake TR100 or Fractal Terra.
I’m at that stage now too. No more RGB and or glass. Time for something different and more aesthetically pleasing that looks high end.
Searching for that case. And found the Fractal Node 304. Looks like a perfekt NAS Case
Thinkpad T14s Gen 1, i7 10th gen, 16gb, 256gb SSD. Claimed bad power and keyboard but after I unplugged everything and replugged in everything, it started to work again! Installed openSuse Tumbleweed on this as well as sxwm as my window manager, averages around 760mb on idle (systemd alone takes 320). The only con of this laptop is that the memory is soldered in, although the normal T14 has at least one upgradable slot. Overall, very snappy and effective machine.
A bike is always a good purchase
Totally not hardware related.
In short: Had to have surgery last Tuesday, was released from the hospital the day before yesterday. And after a short check up with my physician as of yesterday, all I will need are those bandages. And rest, no sports for at least a month.
Nowadays medicine is crazy. It has been a non-complicated low risk surgery and in comparison to an emergency surgery I’ve had two decades ago (appendix removal). I was only able to leave the bed after three days back then. But this time, I already stood on my own feet the same day. Didn’t even required a blood transfusion, no pain killers (except the first day). And the stitches will degrade organically without the need of removal.
I have to admit that I’m pretty happy that I’m not a US citizen. I actually don’t even want to now how much my health insurance will be charged in the end.
But it’s totally not my interest to start a discussion about the different health care systems.
Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks, I’m pretty fine already!
Good to see you’re on the road to recovery.
Definitely, I really do need to get fit.
