2 of those beauties, one with 90% UV Filter (aka ā€œSunglassesā€) for driving, the other one with ā€œgamingā€ package (extra blue light filter, anti reflexive coating on both sides for us display workers, thinner glasses). Man glasses are not cheap :frowning:
edit: forgot to mention: they come with inbuild fix for my -8.5 dioptrine…

Pretty awesome i must admit. Looks like i3? AMD …just works!

32 cores…
64GB RAM? (hard to read from the huge screenshot

i3wm is may not even recognized by the system… ā€œwhat? i run a Desktop already? where is it? ?ā€

And don’t forget Micro$oft Pluton, who knows how many cores it uses…

does the Ryzen 9 7950X3D have one? also… i do not think it will run or do anything outside windows?
May Linux can make good use of it ?
(aside from bad firmware, that does not allow to disable it)

Yeah, everything past 6xxx has it.

I’m fairly certain it runs independently of OS, just like Intel ME and AMD PSP, but you can’t remove it or flash it with garbage data because it’s inside CPU, that’s the whole point.

Black box backdoor… :hole:

:male_detective: :alien:

My understanding is that AMD uses their own Arm chip that is compliant with Microsoft’s Pluton initiative.

It’s hard to know what information is fact. I’m going by Anantech.

Maybe, technicals of it’s guts doesn’t matter that much to end result however, problem is we don’t know anything at all, except that it’s ā€œchip to cloud () securityā€ Micro$oft crap running inside your CPU…
Sounds bad enough

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor

lucky me…

Lenovo added an on of switch to the firmware already:

Pluton will be disabled by default on 2022 Lenovo ThinkPad platforms.
Specifically the Z13, Z16, T14, T16, T14s, P16s and X13 using AMD 6000-series processors. Customers will have the ability to enable Pluton themselves.

But we are off topic… (or not if you call it buy the devil in a sack)

And technically hard to believe that it is OS independently downloading or uploading any data…
It says it can load firmware files from flashdrives or while you boot WindowsOS from the ā€œcloudā€
…

but no more here… this is a fun thread not anything else…

It’s disabled on my board…for what its worth.

I think this will be what we hopefully see on most devices… Lenovo accidently had the option missing and the chip enabled… but … i do not think they do that by intention …
