Better believe it! I’m using a 280mm at work on a Ryzen 9 3900X and the loudest thing in that machine is the tiny GPU fan (it’s a FirePro W4100, nothing fancy). I’m running a 5900X at home and can deal with the GPU fan noise when I’m rendering video, but I’m sick of hearing the fans ramp when I start Firefox. That’s annoying.

To me, that sounds like scuba-diving on Mars.

Honestly, I have no idea of all the tech-specs you mention.

What’s the wattage your computers are drawing while running “under water”? - Did you ever care to measure?

Also, I bet you’ve got to add some nice chemicals to the water, so no algae build up inside, because that could lead to a mess-up?

That is a spectacular desk. Looks radioactive, but highly functional. Always been a fan of that sort of thing, but never got around to doing any of it – plain vanilla computer cases for me!

I just acquired this cardboard box. It is by far the finest carton I have ever owned.

In fact, it may be the best shipping carton that has ever existed!

BTW the really amazing carton had this Lenovo Thinkpad T560 in it, in case anybody cares about dumb old computers. It had a dinky 128GB SSD in it which I immediately upgraded to 1TB with a used SSD from my junk box. It’s only got 1 stick of 8GB RAM in it but I have a 16GB kit on order. i7-6600U, 1920x1080, backlit keyboard. Not as cool as the box but I guess I’ll keep it.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really nice computer, but the box is something really special…

Threw in a bid on an ebay auction last night. Didn’t figure to win. I did. So I’ll be upgrading from my 3700X to a 5900X now. Will put the 5900X in eco mode so it runs @65-watt TDP instead of the default 105-watt. I don’t like the heat production of 105-watt.

What did you end up paying?

$247.50 before shipping and taxes, $273.50 after.

It’s a blessing in winter though

Yeah, but I live in Phoenix, the land that winter forgot.

Ryzen 7 5700G + AsRock B550 ITX motherboard. Total price 320 eur shipped. Not a bad price. Finally getting rid of the old 8700K. It served me well, but it’s getting too slow and hot for modern stuff.

Coming from a fellow 5900X owner, I suspect you’ll be happy with it. Strikes the perfect balance between multithreaded workload and gaming performance, in my opinion. You get a buttload of cores but don’t take the single-threaded performance hit of the 5950X.

i have treated myself to a ben sherman harrington jacket for my birthday, even though it is still a month away.

This thing is tiny! I can’t believe it has a N100 CPU, 16Gb RAM and a 500Gb SSD!

The summer is intense here ( around 45 degree Celsius ) , but it had brought some delight :

The Mangoes :mango: !!

We had purchased a Carton of it, which contains 20 mangoes :

It costed us ₹825, which roughly converts to 10 USD.

It’s time to enjoy !!
