Tinkering just a little on the laptop. Basically just an icon change to Nordzy-dark and a wallpaper change.
Think I might change it up a little more still, thinking it would look better with the text like the first image
EDIT - I think it’s because the text clashes with the clock
Like this setup a lot (apart from the clock, just seems off to my brain) Love the icons they the Ubuntu ones?
So, I decided to purge Win95-themed MX Linux on my secondary laptop [1] and install LM22 Cinnamon in its place.
Cinnamon is a kinda dull desktop, but dull in a good manner - catered towards productivity, but with simple customisation options. They’re simple enough to let me create this abomination of a rice:
Now, don’t you also think Mint’s default icon theme should be entirely based on Papirus? It makes a huge difference compared to what typical Mint users have to deal with today.
I created an ISO snapshot if I wanted to get back to it lol ↩︎
What font do you use? I like it
Try F2FS … i have gut results with it … on low speed ssd (sata).
I think it’s also a bit risky to put on systems with risks of power loss (like desktops), no? I’m happy with my existing system and their filesystems right now too, and I don’t plan to purge my installs or add a new machine, so I’ll probably only start looking into it in the far future. Glad for you it works well though!
Yeah … i now … but its frendlier to ssd and there is no diferenc in speed. Only first boot after crash is longer (the chcesk system is slower) but until now everything ok and i have it even on NAS/home multimedia center on system and data drivers.
On desktop - i instaled system on laptop with m2 sata ssd with not good IO and the system is ok and more fluent … over brtfs - (ext4 is worst even compare to raiserfs - with i have used actively like 10 -15 ? Yers back.
Yeah I get the appeal, not just of F2FS but also others like BcacheFS and other niche ones, but IMO EXT4 is good enough for me. The simpler the better The only FS I’m interested in at the moment is XFS and ZFS, but I have 0 plans on actually trying it out on bare metal. Just like how I’m (very) interested in the reworked VanillaOS but don’t have any reason nor plans to ditch my Silverblues.
i simplified things even more in KDE (wayland):
i just thought my security camera would be neat to share too!
Missing the beach this August. A little refresh of the wallpaper and changed the color scheme for Yakuake.
Zfs is like other old filesystem kept in past.
Not evolving fatst enough.
XFS is nice but for my usage its useles (cant shrink partition).
Bcachefs looks nice but im not sure if its ready yet … uts looks more like furst versions of raiserfs … lots of promisess but little diferent reality
That looks really nice
yes … for gnome its realy realy nice.
