These minimalistic setups make me want to try again Plasma.
My relationship with Plasma can be described as love-hate - theoretically itās nice, but every time I try it out something terrible happens and I need to crawl back to my Xfce caveā¦

Me too. I have had a standing new yearās resolution to install Plasma and break the the record from the previous year on how fast it gets ditched again 
I have been a GNOME only user since the advent of GNOME 40 but for the past couple of weeks I have revisited Plasma (and its ecosystem of apps and what not) and I have to say that, despite myself, I am quite enjoying it.
Everytime Iāve tinkered with GNOME I find myself bumping up against it in little niggling ways and wanting to use something else. Maybe I just never gave it enough of a chance 
I think itās because out of the box it cribs so heavily from Appleās UIs, a layout and design language which Iāve always deeply disliked.
yep. I always think āhey maybe its just me. Iām ready to try it againā then a lot of ābumping up againstā it and back to what I love.
