I thought it was some kind of conky, not a widget.

I think I have things just the way I want them for nowā€¦

Your suggestions looks nice. I simply like GNOME and their apps.

thanks.

FWIW. You need not use Gnome DE to run ā€˜mostā€™ of the Gnome apps.

I like the unified experience. Gnome + Flatpak + Gnome apps. Also, I donā€™t usually do any ricing or customization, I like that Linux generally customizable but Iā€™d prefer default experience and what the designer originally intended. Jakub Steiner, Alice M., and Tobias Bernard vision for Gnome UX is simply brilliant in my opinion.

I tried several WM, I tried i3 (of course, arenā€™t we all?), Sway and even twm just for the sake of it. I like how it looks but then when in term of using it, itā€™s just notā€¦ fluid. Not to mention potential problem when Iā€™m running video games, though admittedly I havenā€™t stayed long enough to judge the experience more objectively.

Currently I am not on EOS, Iā€™m using Vanilla OS since January, with Gnome out of the box, I currently using out-of-date version of Gnome but Iā€™m satisfied with the experience. Itā€™s been a long time since I simply just use my PC (I havenā€™t open my terminal for weeks! and when I do, itā€™s practically useless because I donā€™t need it).

This is how it looks currently:

If my 50+ years of computer experience has taught me anything it is: the computer should work the way you likeā€¦

That you have your own approach is exactly as it should be.

Otto rules. Do you installed Kvantum for blur-effect?

EDIT: Really love your starship prompt

Thanks mate,
Iā€™m steering clear of Kvantum just for now as I donā€™t think itā€™s fully Plasma 6 friendly yet.

Yer I tried it out after the initial release and was having a few really weird issues with transparency, havenā€™t tried it since though

Yep, I saw people saying there are issues with blur and like you say transparency too.

Yer I tired playing around with the settings and configs for a few days and gave up with it for now but will probably look at it every month or so to see when it becomes good again.

Iā€™m waiting too. :sunglasses:
Itā€™s such a popular tool, I canā€™t see it being too long before itā€™s 6 friendly.

I have also heard of some people having problems with Kvantum. Klassy is installed on my plasma. Nice blur feature available
