I know. I tried X11 and got serious full-screen screen tearing like XFCE back in 2009. Later I learned I needed to change some variable deep in the /etc folder because nothing is ever easy in Gnome. I’ll give Gnome another shot later in this year.
I was lucky with gnome, everything working for me on Wayland. No Nvidia anymore. ![]()

I look forward to seeing the next iteration of your design.
Great set of folks here, there’s no clowning around. ![]()

Priceless, fantastic!
Thanks! I am glad that you liked it.
Found a nice used cpu (with Intel internal display). Upgrade for Voyager2. ![]()
A new wallpaper. A new LTS kernel now in installation on all calculating machines. ![]()
Very nice clean look! I really like how peaceful your wallpaper is and colors match Endeavour logo ![]()
I really liked the idea with the panel on the side. Thanks @Hystrix ![]()
So I set up a very simple plasma desktop. Just Breeze, Revontuli colorscheme, Infinity Icons and autohide panel.
I don’t use my Thinkpad as much as I used to. And if/when things go south, it’s surely the computer I’m grabbing for the end of the world.
I cannot FREAKING BELIEVE how much bloated non-sense I had to uninstall from this. Several terminals, 2-3 dictionaries, gnome-games came with it, applets. Debian has to be one of the most bloated distros I’ve ever tried to use.
It’s been slimmed by a lot. Like this. I love collecting badges here.
Use the netinstall ISO. It’s like a (real) Arch install.
nice. i also enjoy Debian . happy see you back sir ![]()
That is my main complaint of debian or debian based distros. Over bloated.
