Love that URW Gothic font! It reminds me of Back to the Future (one of my wife’s favorite movies) or the 80’s in general. I’ve tried it myself before, but XFCE’s rendering of it didn’t seem to do it the same justice on my screen as it is on yours. I’ll try it again under MATE since it has more options as to font rendering.

Finally took the plunge for real this morning! Pretty simple and conservative MATE layout but it’s comfortable, and of course I had to find a wallpaper of the spacecraft bearing the name of our distro! :grinning:

You don’t have dedicated graphic card ??:flushed::flushed::flushed:. Try neofetch, him show Amd driver card… btw, how is mate desktop now?? I like mate too, but too many time crashing brisk menu:see_no_evil:

Guess it’s a good thing I ended up liking Advanced MATE Menu as much or better than Brisk Menu! :grinning: I like MATE ever so slightly more than XFCE, although each has a few tiny advantages. No graphics card, this is a refurbished business laptop that my brother-in-law found a good deal on a few years ago.

Here’s a neofetch (I tried switching to LTS kernel today to eliminate that as a possible cause of my screensaver problem):

“Advanced menu”? I think it’s time to see what the old Mate does :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

Look who’s back. Got a new tower two months ago and first threw Manjaro on there to get it up and running.
Now had the time to sit down and do things…
I like what you’ve done with the place while I was gone.

Updating mine from launch. Rebuilt my system from an i7 5820K to a Ryzen 3800X. Also you know… 2080Ti…

The old build became my home lab/media server. Same theme. Setup a QDR Infiniband network between the two systems for working with files on my main system in real I/O time. If you have some kind of setup like this, QDR IB gear is dirt cheap on eBay. Totally worth looking into. No switch required, just a direct IB link between both and an NFS share.

Still purple, still Zelda, still rocking The Adventure Zone: Balance as my naming convention, still my favorite flavor of Arch Linux. Thanks EndeavourOS Team!

I want to test dwm for some time now, but i don’t think i’ll have the time to play with it.
Seems a very nice and different alternative for i3-wm, very minimallistic too.
Maybe some day…

It is excellent, like Xmonad, but unlike i3 there are too many nudes and there to do everything by hand, it takes time but there are patches and scripts on the internet, but when you finish it is really nice to use it!

Really nice backgrounds here. How is everyone getting the EndeavourOS ascii in the terminal to show up?

Screenfetch does it automatically, they put us in their database.

I had a bit of a hiccup during an update of Kubuntu on my work laptop yesterday, so I took the plunge and installed EOS and was back up and running in about 20-30 minutes including installation of Plasma. I made a few additional tweaks today.

This is… extremely professional and the best looking “branded” i3 I have seen to date.

edit: Might I throw a question your way: Will there be an easy way to revert to the “new defaults” (I installed Cinnamon before, obviously ;)) Or just give us a list of the choices so we can try them when they are officially released?
