Sail away - new EOS wallpaper created in Blender

To celebrate a successful installation of EOS on my main desktop PC, I created the following wallpaper in Blender, let me know what you think . Maybe I should add “ENDEAVOUR OS” in the upper right corner?

Anyway, it was a good learning exercise in Blender, using the new sky texture, the “ocean modifier” and the “lattice modifier” to create the sails.

I like it very much, plain and simple. The logo in the upper right corner is a good idea. Can you also do it in 1440p? Even enlarging it could cause losses.

Sure, no problem, I can easily render in any resolution. Here is a 1440p version, I hope the original file will be preserved after upload:

Perhaps on one of the sails, kind of “vertically” along the outer line?

Or on the side of the hull, where usually the names of the boats are written. It would be very subtle in this case, so quite nice.

Frankly, I prefer it plain, just as it is, though I’m sure that many, if not most, people will like to have the name incorporated.

I’m working on an enhanced version with some haze to soften the horizon line, stay tuned. Other improvements ideas are also welcome. I think consensus is to provide two versions, one with logo on sails and one without?

Edit: How about the ocean, more or less waves…?

Maybe do a dark version with a nigh time sky with stars etc. Maybe add some purple to the night sky since EnOS is kind of purple and space oriented.

A dark version is a good idea, let me look into that, I can put some spotlight on the sails for highlighting.

Edit: Appreciate some help locating a suitable night time sky panorama (equirectangular projection), as high resolution as possible and preferably without any “land”, i.e. just the sky :slight_smile: It doesn’t need to be an HDRI, any normal image in this projection will work. Maybe NASA has some free stuff…
