I’ve only been to England once. Never in Wales. My colleague worked in Wales for years. But we talk about other things than tensions within the kingdom. She would have known that, of course. I’m far too far away. But believe me, there are also tensions within Germany
I’m familiar with the simplistic thesis that there have been two Germanys east and west of the Elbe ever since the Roman Emperor Augustus set the Elbe as a boundary in AD9. This echoes in history with the Protestant/Catholic divide and the rise of Prussia. Of course, any country made up of former tiny duchies and principalities must have a millennium’s worth of petty grievances & enmities
Here in it’s free on the BBC with former players Fara Williams, Rachel Corsie and Nedum Onuoha in the studio and Gilly Flaherty in the commentary box. However they are all or and one of them is a man!
Thankfully all the Euro 2025 matches are free in on either BBC or ITV
The other match had seven goals and a red card but this match had late drama with giving away a foolich penalty late in the second half, but getting the equaliser they needed in the 92nd minute
So & qualify from Group A. Kathrin Lehmann must be relieved
But what a pity for the brave
They played much cleaner, were much better in the game. Had no nervousness at all. What a shame. The actually only got in front of goal once in second half and that was on a penalty kick.
Congratulations to on reaching the quarter-finals
I stopped caring about sports decades ago, but one thing that has me enamored is this Catlin Clark thing going on. It s been going on for a while, and has built up into real drama. Funny thing is a load of players, and others have been either fired, or banned from WNBA for their antics. All the while Catlin Clark always takes the high road, and never retaliates physically. She just plays like the phenom she is.
