Photos you've taken

I am not quite that far east but about 300 km from Parc Forillion on the edge of the Gaspésie in Bas St Laurent. Similar climate but flatter landscape still in the agricultural area just before the Chic Chocs proper start.

Great, is it around Trois Pistoles, Rimouski ? I like this place. I visited also the others side Hautes Gorges amazing, but Chic Choc I heard about it. I was lucky to meet Jean Sylvain, the Quebecor who climbed first a lot of Mounts in Québec with a cord and his hands, no security at this time !

I live just outside of Rimouski. I have never been to Les hautes gorges but heard it is beautiful . The chichocs are a special place and known to hardly anyone. Even people in Montreal often do not know about these mountains. Fine food at le gîte de mont Albert as well.

Some of my favorite photography over the years. All shots are with an Olympus E520, or my Fujifilm XT20. I’ve got literally THOUSANDS of photos I’ve taken.

and here is some Greek music to accompany your photo.

All roads lead to Rome but then you need to go Greece to find out where the Romans discovered Rhodes.

Some Photos I took about 10 minutes ago
The first one is taken out my back door. It shows how the wind blowing off the roof has created a snow drift literally hanging in mid air. I measured that and it is hanging in the air for 30 inches thus far.

Also on the back side of the house. This overhang isn’t extending out as far as the other, but is taller.

The block wall at the right in the middle extending diagonally upwards is 3 feet tall, and the chaing link fence in the background is 4 feet tall. They are predicting another 8 to 10 hours of snow from this point.

Taken from the kitchen window on the front of the house.

Of course, this probably won’t impress our Canadian members.

Corrected some typos.

Oh - most of us are impressed - it looks decidedly ‘Rocky’ out there! Now the time I didn’t have to use the steps to get in the cab of my 18-wheeler (usually 4 steps) comes to mind… but then again that was in the mountains too!

Losing the snow here atm… I always figured there was no ‘point’ to snow after Christmas has stopped needing ‘white’…

Hmm, I have thousands as well. I’ll try to upload some of the best ones tomorrow… will compression work for putting them on this forum? My XE-1’s processed images are already quite large, and my own processing (from the raw files) ends up being even larger.

Just another photograph from my serie called “PHOTOSOPHY” (Image and Text)
This one is from Seoul, in South-Korea and is called MODERN TIMES
17 - Modern Times

No, this is not a remake of Chaplin’s famous movie, nor a remake of a Jacques Tati’s movie. But this photograph, which was taken in Seoul, South-Korea, reminds me of the absurdity of the rhythm of modern life.

The sense of belonging employees have to the corporation they are working for is especially - but not exclusively - rooted in the culture of East Asia, and this sense of belonging is often stronger than their own individuality. Just like in this image where we can see people running, and their faces - or their identity, their free will - are not seen. People seem to be constantly running, from morning to evening, if not from birth to death.

This act of running is like a shadow of an old teaching of Eastern wisdom which says that the most important thing is the way, and not the actual results of our actions. Placed in its original context - an Indian scripture called the “Bhagavad Gita” - it means that one has to be in constant movement, to be in action, and this movement itself, is the meaning of life.

Imagine trying to reach perfection. It’s impossible, since no living creature is perfect. But we can try, every day, to move closer to an ideal of perfection.

The Way brings us closer to discovering the purpose of life, which begins in the knowledge of one’s true nature. Who are we? What is our destiny? Do we have a purpose to fulfil?

Nobody guarantees an answer, but walking the way is often enough to give meaning to all our experiences, from birth to death. It is about doing, but doing with a purpose instead of fading slowly into the nonsense of modern life. We learn from every experience, every movement, every error, and our identity gets clearer, more present and stronger every time.

Running and fading away only leave us with the option of survival.
Moving every day with a purpose makes us more alive.
