Pamac: no package found

Hello friends, I’m new to the eos community.
I installed pamac on eos. I knew it from Manjaro linux. When I start it under eos, it says no package found in the window. So under browse no apps are visible. Did I do something wrong during the installation?
Thank you very much in advance.

Welcome to the forum!

There isn’t a lot of information there for us to help you.

Can you share the output of:

pacman -Q | grep pamac
[mriahi@mriahi-terrapc ~]$ pacman -Q | grep pamac
libpamac-aur 11.2.0-5
pamac-aur 10.3.0-4

THX

Please note that pamac is built for Manjaro - it may not work as expected on non-manjaro systems.

Most likely you are missing a dependency - try installing archlinux-appstream-data

Hello, Thank you very much for your help.
Unfortunately, my handling of the terminal is not great. Therefore I need a graphical package installer. That’s why I thought of pamac.
As it is I can live with it. In any case, I want to stay with EndeavorOS. Unfortunately, Manjaro is always behind when it comes to the latest software packages.
Thank you very much for your kindness and help sir.

Welcome to EnOS’ forum @mriahi !

Here below is a link to a recent (and ongoing) thread about basic command lines:

Perhaps you might find some useful info there to put in practice.

Good luck and enjoy your journey onboard Endeavour!

That depends on the branch - unstable branch is synced several times daily.

OK! Thanks for the tip.
I’ll stick with EndeavourOS anyway.

Sincerely, sir

That sounds like pamac is trying to find a package but can’t? Or is that the message you get when you try type pamac into your terminal to launch pamac?

Another pacman gui that some people like is octopi you could see if you like it

It’s a dependency, so it is probably already installed. :man_shrugging:

As it’s first usage, isn’t there a Refresh DBs button/menu?
Also you may want to check Preferences and possibly do some adjustments.

When you have some free time, please start a new thread to explain what the actual, specific, problems are that make using the terminal “not great” for you. Someone here will certainly help you overcome the problem(s).

Thank you for your offer. A nice user suggested the following website to me:

I find the website very interesting and informative. It will close my Terminal knowledge gaps.
thank you very much sir
