That is impressing indeed - when you know all the bronzing is hand made - hammered out and attached to the hull.
Other builds my father in law made - all have the bronze layer painted - on this HMS Victory - it is hand made - to me it stands out as craftsman ship.
That comes from using a Language that is not yours and you never learned to read and write lol.
America does not have a official Language by the way they are waiting to win it from the UK with a trade deal Ha Ha.
Same here. The sense of community here reminds me of how those forums used to be.
I really hope we’re permitted to retain this sense of community going forward, because for me, that community is what retains the more experienced users and helps to keep them around to help out the lesser experienced users on the forum.
No-one wants to hang around or make daily visits to a dry Q&A “forum”.
For me, forums have always been about talking, sharing and communication.
And the Endeavour OS forums show how it can be done, and I’m all the more grateful for it.
Basically Phil says it’s a Technical forum, and shouldn’t be used for chit-chat. He’s working on a new vibe… seems like a no-vibe to me
Strange thinking - but then he isn’t famed for his humour and apparently isn’t interested in an open and casual forum, though it’s obviously a good way to defend against those of us who have a great KDE setup from advising Gnome users of the error of their ways and starting up bloody flame wars.
Personally I think it’s good, beyond our technical issues I find a great number of good ideas… Of all my unique and creative solutions, I can’t actually say that a single one of them wasn’t copied or inspired from some chit-chat off-topic Lounge based forum thread (possibly starting with Opera in the days of Windows 95).
Quite frankly after what I just posted on the Manjaro forum, I don’t care anymore. EndeavourOS is much closer to what Manjaro was before it went down the road of Ubuntufication. Endeavour is basically an Arch installer with some added goodies and an approachable, warm community. Manjaro had the best community and guess what almost all the users I cared about hearing from have already made the switch, so now I have ZERO reason to participate, or care about what happens to Manjaro outside of watching the slow moving train wreck out of morbid curiosity.
I think the most important part is trust. At this point I trust the users who have switched and the Endeavour team, to a much greater degree than I will ever trust the only person who matters at Manjaro. Lets be clear only one person actually matters at Manjaro, and they have made that crystal clear. Regardless sorry if this seems off-topic, but I had to air it out.
As to Endeavour, the installer works very well for a network installer, and boot appears to be really fast compared to Manjaro. As usual I have no problems with the stability of anything based on Archlinux.
We know that many people are frustrated with the new direction of the forums at Manjaro. However, this isn’t the place to vent that frustration.
We invite everyone to be part of our friendly community and we allow the discussions to fairly free-flowing. We just don’t want this to become a place where we belittle other distros or their teams. Instead, try to focus on your experiences here in this community.
To be clear, it is OK to discuss Manjaro or compare Manjaro to EndeavourOS but it is not OK to disparage the Manjaro Team or the distro itself. That is the line we are trying to walk.
Please help us try to keep this clean and on track.
