KDE Plasma 5.27 is here

Not if it’s that disruptive. In bright mode it is a thin black line, on dark windows (Konsole) it is a bright line. No idea who messed up such crap or if it’s just a bug.

Maybe you can set no border in settings, appearance, window decorations, edit, window specific overrides, add, select bordersize, no border?

Edit: I tried and i didn’t see any difference. I had to click on detect window properties first and then it set that and i selected border, no border.

The whole thing looks a little different in my setting, but I think it relates to the same thing. By default, however, this line now seems to be wanted as an outer finish. Who has screwed up again …

before 5.27 there was no border, there was a clean finish.

Alas that border is intentional, the idea is that esp. inactive windows in dark mode are more visible.

Personally I get the idea, but I don’t like how the outcome looks neither.

You understand me, thank you for that!

indeed the wallpaper is a strange choice.

It seems like one of the more controversial changes …

Thank you for that link @Schlaefer :+1: At least I know now that it is intentional, and not a bug :joy:

i like my one… focus indicator…
But we should stay true to the line

It was very welcome, at last!
I had to use the shadow glow, just to help my eyes separate the windows from each other…
The best, of course, is to have a setting to enable/disable and/or set the thickness. I can wait some more time…

How strange is that people perceive one and the same thing so differently.

Our perceptions are influenced by our individual differences and preconceived notions.

What I am most excited about and eager to try is the improved multiscreen and fractional scaling on Wayland support.

Wayland became super sluggish after update. Had to switch back to X11. Gonna test a bit more.

I’ve a pretty annoying bug after update for dual screens. Basically if I’ve the second screen connected to my laptop when the laptop screen power off (no sleep, just power off) it simply never come back to life, the external works like a charm, laptop stay black and only way is blindly reboot to fix. Never had in 5.26

Some fixes are coming (and the window outline “feature” is being reviewed):
