where to get the newest endeavouros-mirrorlist? https://github.com/endeavouros-team/mirrors/releases/download/mirror2/endeavouros-mirrorlist-1-6-any.pkg.tar.xz gives 404
Hello Everyone,
Can someone offer any quick steps (or links to a document) on how to take a proper backup/snapshot before running through this process? I want to make sure I have something to rollback to in case I hit issues with the migration steps.
Any help / feedback / etc. would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
Thanks,
Asif
partimage?
It looks like partimage does not support my filesystem, EXT4. Any other recommendations?
TIA.
Basically dd could do the job, after your reboot with the USB installer stick, and have an extra drive where you can copy everything with dd.
Even though dd is simple to use, it is also dangerous because you need to be absolutely sure not to overwrite your existing system with it.
And clonezilla could be easier. Here are some other alternatives: https://www.tecmint.com/linux-disk-cloning-tools/
And read this too: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Disk_cloning

Creating compressed image with dd
Worked like a charm! I had already uninstalled and gotten rid of anything Antergos related, so skipped the step where Antergos packages needed to be listed and deleted, but followed the guide otherwise precisely.
Enjoying my Endeavour now. ![]()
Yesterday after a long wait, according to your description, I switched from Antergos Linux to EndevourOs. Thanks for the guidance. Everything went smoothly except installing the grub2 theme because it could not be found, but this should be the smallest issue.
grub theme can not be installed or is not showing up on boot ?
ls /boot/grub/themes/EndeavourOS/theme.txt
sudo cat /etc/default/grub
Thanks, but in the meantime I have solved the problem with grub-customizer. Before that, I did everything as you described, but the background of the grub was black because that theme could not be installed so I copied it manually to the right place, but it didnāt help either.
what give you: pacman -Ss grub2-theme-endeavouros ?
Thanks, the theme is now properly installed.
Many thanks for the time to put this up. It helped me a lot, Just had the unfortunate experience of the git server being down when getting the key. But when it wa up again, everything whent smooth. Only thing I changed is making my own about- linux file in the home directory.
Will following Joeās post #51
If I follow those exactly, will this work for KDEPlasma as well?
My apologies for asking, but I need to be sure bc it says openbox and I really donāt want to get into something that will break my install and spend an entire night getting everything running again.
I knew the day would come when I needed to do it, but this being my everyday system, it makes me nervous so Iād rather be thorough in the ādouble-check-by-asking departmentā ![]()
osrelease grub part repository & keys as things as openbox plasma is depended what you are usingā¦
if you added the osrelease repoās keys and grub , and removed the antergos part , pacman -Qm will show the alien packages probably antergos part of it⦠but the linkx is a good one
This should work for all DE installed from Antergos, if you do not have exotic changes implemented
Another advantage for Plasma, lightdm isnā t used but sddm. So no fuss in that area.
Can this be done without yay?
yay seems to be broken so Iāll wait until someone advises on what to do.
