Heads up on latest Kernel update 6.2.5.arch1-1

@joekamprad - what hardware is affected?

I have 2 Dell laptops, XPS13 9350 from 2016, and a Latitude 7520 from 2022. Both with Intel graphics and CPU only, and both not being affected.

i have dracut-boot xfce and grub-boot xfce, after upgrade both boot successfully.

After upgrading to 6.2.5, endeavour xfce still ranks on top three best of all arch xfces OSs for gtk configuration and for the least crackling in pipewire 0.3.67.
Pipewire server and many other apps co-use /run/usr/1000, bad gtk configurations in OS will cause heavy crackling in pipewire’s app-players, especially when using gtk2 themes. After i upgraded my own themes to gtk4, some arch xfce OSs still have very slight crackling in simultaneous works of music playing and other desktop operations.

not easy to tell… Macbook pro (2012?) seems to have the wifi issue on the Broadcom chips…
And not sure if we do not have a domino effect with different issues at the same time.

As wifi issues is on different devices some has issues connecting and rejecting key used others are simply unstable … and third ones do not work at all…

Changelog to 6.2.6:

  • tpm: disable hwrng for fTPM on some AMD designs

AMD cpu? if so update to latest should fix this ā€œcpu stutteringā€ indeed can cause what you say…

Yeah. and also system is already updated.

Just updated my MacbookPro8,1 from kernel 6.2.2 to 6.2.6 and the wifi now works. This MB has Broadcom-wl wifi and Intel graphics.

This whole episode has reminded me how important it is to be using BTRFS, snapper, snap-pac, grub-btrfs, and btrfs-assistant. Getting out of the bad upgrade took a couple of clicks in btrfs-assistant.
