Greetings from Tanzania

I am writing this note to introduce myself: I like the company of the computer. I really like having different distros on my computer (try to think about those who like to have different cars in the garage lol), KDE and Cinnamon are my favorite graphical environments. I discovered Endeavour reading Distrowatch and for some reason that I can’t explain it attracted me. While I write the ISO is downloading and a partition is already ready to host it, I took a look at the Forum and I liked it a lot, it seems that there is a really nice environment here. I confess something: I installed Arch (pure, from scratch) many years ago and also some derivatives swearing to myself that Arch would never find a place in my computer again (the strange problems I had with Arch I have never had with any other distro) and instead now I am here eager to know Endeavour. Thanks to those who took the time to read my presentation. I am happy to be here.

Ciao

Hi and welcome to the forum.

My personal experience is that it was very easy to get EndeavourOS up and running. Also the community is a friendly and knowledgeable bunch

Hi, @Bonheur welcome to the purple world of EOS. If my experience is anything to go by, you’re in for a rock solid OS. I wish you all the best.

Hey!
I join everybody to welcome you the purple whatever color side
I wish I were in Dar el Salaam right now !

endeavoursOS has been the first “real” approach to Arch for me, and it is almost the other way around than your experience: all the weird problems went away :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Since I first installed eOS in 2021 I’ve never looked back and it is my everyday distro.

…and I think the community plays a huge part in that (…and the wiki :face_with_hand_over_mouth:)

Love EOS, but it is my hope that this purple fetish will subside. Purple is the reason why I dumped ubuntu. This fascination with color I do not understand. OH, and Bonheur. Welcome to the forum…an interesting fact. My spellchecker suggests Bonheur be spelled Bourbon…

Let’s agree to disagree, as far as I’m concern, it would be a huge diplomatic incident to ditch purple…
I hid it so far, but the true (and only) reason I’m using eOS is because it is so PUUURRRPPLLEEEE  :purple_heart: :star_struck::rocketa_purple::heart_eyes_cat: :enos_flag: and it fills me with bonheur, more than drinking bourbon !

…of course I’m kidding :slightly_smiling_face:

It wouldn’t be un incident diplomatique at all !

It would be F%CK*N WAAAAAARR !! :imp:

No, seriously, DON’T.

I mean, you still can change your wallpaper if you want, I’m ok with that…
