One of the things I love about EndeavourOS has little to do with the OS itself or the wonderful performance it provides. It’s the variations of the purple color scheme the OS, forum, website, and wiki implement. It’s never crossed my mind to move away from that on my installs of EndeavourOS, though I do prefer variations of blue for the folders. I embrace the EndeavourOS purple color scheme so much, it inspired me to create wallpaper for EOS utilizing that color scheme more than 9 months ago.
Several responses in the Greetings from Tanzania thread got me wondering… What are your feelings on the EOS purple color scheme?
Yes, A lot of what I do is based around purples now. Just remembered I learnt something today about purple being 1 of the last “discovered” colours as it rarely occurs naturally apparently
Yes, purple is the trademark of EOS… but I still don’t like that color. Sorry guys, I always deselect the EOS theming/branding during installation and prefer the original Breeze/Light and the blue folders. As we all know, tastes differ and I don’t love EOS because of the colors, but because of the system itself. Peace!
PS: I would appreciate it if Calamres could be switched to a light theme during installation. Much easier on the eyes.
Well, it’s not exactly banned, but I personally don’t like it. It makes it difficult for me to read the text quickly and sometimes I even get a headache. If you like it, why not… I would just be grateful if I could change the installer to default Breeze light with a click.
Back to the topic: Purple is a beautiful color - for those who like it …
My eyes punch me hard in the face if I use them to read in dark mode.
On a more serious note, it really depends on the person.
And the ophthalmologists have contrasted views (haha) on that matter.
Anyway, I do like purple (how childish is that to like a color more than another btw?!! let alone racism), and my eyes can’t stand “dark” mode (for reading at least).
Here. Here. I vote black to be the official color. It s only logical. Black represents the vast unknown in the absence of light. The dark matter that represents simplicity, minimalism, and elegance. Traits that EOS, no doubt, is intent on portraying. Black exemplifies power, dominance, professionalism, and seriousness. Black is a symbol of finality which makes sense to me cause I don’t plan on using any other os.
