It used to be the first thing I changed, but it grew on me though
Welcome to the purple side and the best Linux Distro!
The Color purple was reserved for Royalty back in the Day as it was very rare. So there is a natural draw to those of use who are Royal to be attracted to purple
If you happen to come to Dar let me know Cheers!
I would really like to understand this.
(and if you answer me Iāll tell you why)
I see that the color purple has been highlighted several times, I confess one thing: I hadnāt noticed it. Iāll add another detail: in Italy the color purple is used to decorate coffins and this color is associated with funerals in general
I can say that now that Iāve noticed the association with Endeavour I like it.
I totally will !!!
Did you get it running then ?
āDid you get it running then ?ā
Ciao linuxislife! Yes, installation completed and last night (the internet connection is a disaster here during the day) I did the āafter installā steps and installed a couple of packages. I had a small problem: the mouse cursor and then the entire screen froze for a few seconds and I donāt understand why (new HP desktop machine, i7 processor and 32 GB RAM). It fixed itself and in the meantime it was dawn and I went to sleep for a couple of hours, Iāll go back to Endeavour to see how it behaves this evening
So, how do you like your come back to arch so far ?
Iām just seen now your thread about installing Edge, and I also see it is locked, must have been funny
So anyway, I dunno why you wanted to install edge in particular, but if itās ājustā to have a chrome based browser, there is ungoogled-chromium available in the arch aur.
I use it myself with some tweaks and itās been doing the job for many years now.
Just to point it out, not at all that I have something against edge⦠(
)
Ciao linuxislife, The main reason is the convenience of having āFavoritesā synchronized between Windows and Linux without having to import
(the idea of āāinstalling another browser on Windows for example Firefox to get the same result at the moment does not excite me). Apart from this I can say that I have known Edge with Windows 11 and I want to say that I like it, it is fast and works well. All the stories of privacy hatred towards Microsoft etc. do not concern me.
Speaking of Google based browsers I really like Vivaldi, I had it years ago but now Iām afraid to install it, I had added it to Linux Mint but when I went to configure the mail the fans started spinning as if the computer was a turboprop taking off. I was afraid that something would go wrong, I turned off the computer and then removed Vivaldi.
Now Iām writing to you from Windows, the problems with EOS have worsened (I wrote another message asking for help in the āBootā section), I havenāt received an answer yet.
Thanks for our views, appreciate it!
Iāll have a look at your other post.
I struggle myself today with some computers issues, totally unrelated to endeavour, some drive physically failed on me, Iām dunno if thereās much to do anywayā¦
I just finished tinkering with EOS (I managed to log in), I did another update with the command
āsudo pacman -Syuā
and apparently everything is working fine now.
Iām also completing the setup, I installed qBittorrent and more.
I think I understand how you feel, sorry for that. I recently lost an external HD and I was really upset; it was the backup of practically all my personal files (photos, music etc.).
The main computer with the original files is in another country and I fear I will never see it again, that the 2 TB mechanical Verbatim used only as an archive would suddenly give up I really didnāt expect, I tried to use PhotoRec and it found something but not much.
Ciao
You know mechanical drives can suffer from what is called bit rot:
Data degradation is the gradual corruption of computer data due to an accumulation of non-critical failures in a data storage device. It is also referred to as data decay, data rot or bit rot.[1] This results in a decline in data quality over time, even when the data is not being utilized. The concept of data degradation involves progressively minimizing data in interconnected processes, where data is used for multiple purposes at different levels of detail. At specific points in the process chain, data is irreversibly reduced to a level that remains sufficient for the successful completion of the following steps[2]
Hi from another newbie
I have been exploring for a couple months now and still love it. Love live purple! LOL
Plus or minus we are in the same situation
