I’m also an ex-manjaro user
hear, hear. I did some hopping about too, until I stumbled on Endeavour, and I could believe the openness and warmth of this community. The OS itself is fantastic.
Welcome to @W1se.
This is the point
Welcome @W1se to the Purple Planet!
We are glad that you are here. I hope you find a home with us…if the EOS can put up with me, they can put up with anyone.
Welcome @W1se , I was also reading the Manjaro forum until recently because I had to maintain my wife’s computer with Manjaro (have been able to convert my wife to EOS in the meantime). Could only shake my head at their decisions. They tinker so much with the finished arch that in the end everything is broken … Enjoy our community!
Onwards and Archwards!
Hello and welcome! I also thought that this minty green looks really nice. But soon I got tired (and sometimes even annoyed) by that color and I looked around and I discovered this beautiful purple!
Hi W1se, welcome to EndeavourOS bud!
Welcome at the purple side of the moon !
Welcome @W1se
Welcome to Archlinux
EndeavourOS is not Arch. It’s close, but it’s not Arch.
It’s not, but it uses the same repositories after all, doesn’t it?
Mostly. Still doesn’t make it Arch, though.
Pretty much the only reason we say this is that people on the Arch Forum get upset at us if we don’t.
To elaborate: it cannot be stressed enough that installing EndeavourOS does not entitle one for support on the Arch Forums… But for the most practical purposes, I really see no difference between the two.
There’s about 0.01% difference. It’s minimal, and EndeavourOS really does benefit from being one of the closest Arch derivatives there is.
0.01% difference however is full of…
FUN!!!
I meant forum, but technically speaking it also can be considered BLOAT
