Gnome Got €1 Million For Development

For some reason this is the first thing that came to mind, maybe you can get some ideas for your project

Didn’t MicroSoft already do that? :man_shrugging:

No i mean it will be FOSS…
But it will be fork of Gnome with all possible anti-patterns described in reddit above, M$, Mac and rest of that jazz…most hated of everything.

It will use hate repos, with hateful api.
Of course i’ll have hate forum as well!

P.S. Hate installer too :postal_horn:

On the other hand as the community grows it also attracts more members of the “minority”, those with strong opinions in certain areas. Considering your joining date among the participants it’s easy to make a case that you are the one new to this community.

But having that kind of d*ck measuring contest isn’t helpful.

So instead of assuming because someone is using Arch and therefore they must also like dogs instead of cats (or vice versa) we have to evaluate positions on their own merit. Let’s not assume, because it makes an …

Thank you for reiterating what I said in your own words. :+1:

PS: Yes. Using a join date would be a bad idea, simply because a person can be part of a community without interacting or even signing up. Former Antergos user here. Not bragging because there may be Cinnarch or even day one Arch users here.

But also, when I said “influx” of users, I was talking about those not part of the Linux community in general, not just EndeavourOS. Thought that was very clear. :person_shrugging:

Read non-fiction with your eyes and logic. Read fiction with your heart and imagination.

That is clear, and the most important disagreement: The gatekeeping that participants in the EndeavourOS community must automatically overlap with your <insert remotely connected Linux community you formally associated with>. That everybody who wasn’t in your former community is an “outsider” majority that invades an “insider” space now. A space you decided to join long after all the other people.

I don’t say I’m not feeling:tm: you, but also that ain’t it chief.

I had considered ending my response with only the first sentence because I had a feeling you would focus only on the fact that I mentioned my origins in Antergos.

Why choose the predictable route and then tell me not to assume? :person_facepalming:

Also, where did I say anything that indicates I am trying to gate keep? All I said was that I should have known (based on logic) that more new to Linux users would eventually make the community more adherent to the norms of society.

Again, see below because you seem to not understand it. What I say is what I mean. Not what you feel it means.

Read non-fiction with your eyes and logic. Read fiction with your heart and imagination.

Oh, everything you say and mean is what I feel:tm: it means. That’s the whole purpose of this talk. Otherwise you sit in your head space unable to communicate anything to the outside world, and nothing of it would matter.

Uff do not let this thread go nuts my firends :man_shrugging:

I kno i know Gnome is mentioned and a lot of money but keep it funny… and do not take your-self and others to serious …

Stay on the topic helps with that.

ups!

I don’t know, I’m a bit of a guitar afficiando so, in my mind, Gnome vs Plasma is kinda like “Joe Bonamassa vs Eric Gales”. You might have your favorite but, let’s be real, they both kick ass…

thats-a nice! great sound. I’ve seen lou reed do this live many times with a cello player. his never had those eyes though:). Keith was right! Nice on ears!

As a self taught guitarist i find this so stupid

PS:What are you listening to right now? - #11118 by keybreak is a better place for talking about music

His solo cover of it is our there on YouTube as well, but it’s a much longer cut. He kinda “goes off” a bit

I like that the cello and guitar tend to pair nicely. Similar vocal range I think.
