Hi guys Endeavour0S HYPRLAND community Edition update

First things first.
The Waybar-modules background changed a little bit to make the Waybar-modules look better when dark wallpapers are used.

4 launchers in Waybar.
On your left you have the EndeavourOs icon this points to Wofi version menu style
Second one with the mail icon opens outlook in brave but in app style no brave menus
The third one with the chat icon opens Chatgpt in in brave but in app style no brave menus
The calculator icons open Galculator in floating mode

if you go to the right side in the Waybar you see ETH (network module this opens Networkmanager-dmenu but in Wofi.

Next to that you have now Keyhint this opens a terminal with all the keybindings you need to navigate Hyprland.

Also for i forget the update module works with Paru and not Yay the script does not seem to work correctly with Yay for some reason i have to take a look at this further.

And last on the left side next to the update module you will find a caffeine module and behind this there is custom script what uses Swayidle and after 5 minutes when the coffee cup icon is not filled most of the directly after reboot your system will go to a lock-screen and stay there for 5 minutes so that you have time enough to fill in your password , if you do nothing the system will go to sleep in 5 minutes. your mouse or keyboard press will wake your computer from sleep that brings you to the lock-screen.

And very last if you click on the caffeine module after boot the coffee cup shows a full filled icon that means your system will not go to the lock-screen and will not go to sleep at all nice if you want to watch a movie or something then you don’t have to worry that your system will go bye bye

Waiting to try this out

I have a suggestion
Can you display connected network IN and OUT rate in waybar??

Because you asked so nice

waybar shows traffic now down and up in kilobytes and in bytes

Wowie !! Thats awesome :star_struck: !! thank you

Your very welcome was no problem to make.
Was a good idea i knew there was something missing but had to change the cycle_wall module a little bit otherwise the rest of the modules where getting in trouble because of the not enough space problem a bar is only that width.

Cool. I have seen many waybar config’s but none of them showed the bandwidth in and out in the bar. This is a small feature but will be more useful. Glad you made it perfectly fit

Yeah was a bit work but fun to do, i did remove the cycle_wall module, you can place it back if you want it’s still in the config also there is language module and a pipewire module in the config but i did notice the pipewire script causes a hugh impact on your memory it works but i did choose for pulse audio instead what uses pipewire-pulmber at the back-end.
And for the cycle-wall module there is a keybind in hyprland.conf file also if you want you can use pywal with the terminals and with waybar its easy to do this waybar is already ready for it.

The small information icon next to memory is now the keybindings cheat sheet what will open in kitty.
And for i forget i will push this for the fish shell, the fish config has lots of aliases already created in the fish config.

Looks really good. Personally I prefer a single line bar but I could live with that too.

you can always change things around that makes linux so fun. but see this as a solid base.

for example yesterday i lost my workspace module in waybar it would not show up no matter what i did , did read some on the gentoo forum about the issue but the fix that was provided did not solve it so i had to a rollback with snapper and after that it all worked fine again still have no idea what caused the issue or bug.

Same here. I use hyprland/workspaces now, there’s something wrong with wlr/workspaces.

From the lead Dev…

Support for the ext_workspace_v1 protocol has been dropped, meaning waybar’s wlr/workspaces and alike will not work anymore (for waybar I recommend just switching to hyprland/workspaces)

To track the changes in Hyprland as they occur, follow this link.

Thanks missed that  changed already my config.

LOL…I was going to DM you last night, as I was looking at your configs, and noticed you hadn’t made the switch.

Your setup is looking great! I nicked your pipewire script and the waybar module for it to use in my setup. I was using the stock wireplumber module that already comes in waybar, but yours offered more flexibility.

I appreciate all your efforts…I’m sure a lot more people will be eager to try Hyprland, as a result of your work.

Regards,
Robert

What i have now running has not yet been pushed to Gthub i do that somewhere next week , the configs on github are older and also its not ready that’s why i’m now almost busy night and day in my holiday to make it ready don’t if i’m going to succeed but i gonna try it.

The pipewire script has a impact on the cpuload and cputemp maybe you can fix this.

Well the pipewire script worked fine. One thing I’ve noticed, that a lot of people on Reddit, and or here, fail to keep up with the rapid changes going on in active Hyprland development. Things are constantly evolving, with changes that one needs to stay abreast of them to keep up to date.

That link I sent you, has alerted me to a couple of changes I had to make in adjusting my own Hyprland config when needed, to stay current.

The good news is the documentation is excellent, and easy to implement.

I’m running the git verion of hyprland and also the git hyprland version of waybar. only the xdg-desktop version is not the git version because that one causes issues and supprts only QT6

Still, sometimes you have to make those small adjustments in your Hypr and Waybar configs to reflect the current state, else something breaks.

Yet, many ppl posted on Reddit, with the wlr/workspace issue, when it was clearly addressed. On their sub Reddit, they ask people to read and follow the changes for the updates, It’s amazing how many don’t lol.

As someone who is always changing my configs, that is usually the first thing I check, before diving into yet another crazy rice.
