Good point on Vulkan and native gaming

Out of curiosity what MS games are you referring to?

I hope he’s wrong. I don’t want the next elder scrolls being locked in the MS store. Or unplayable on Linux systems.

Shadow of Mordor for one. Too many menus, clutter on the screen, tons of icons on the map. It was very console designed in feel.

Ahh I bought that game during a steam sale couple of years ago. Haven’t got round to playing it though.

Shadow of Mordor was good, but it, like 90% of AAA titles are all console ports. It’s easier to design a game around limited hardware and port it to PC. That’s why basically every one of them have an awful, clunky UI.

You can still :pirate_flag: those ms-store games and play on Wine (well if it’s not XBOX exclusive anyway)…
But yeah it’s not the same at all

Yeah I know. But I’d rather not :pirate_flag: and support Game studios in this case Bethesda. The only time I became a :pirate_flag: was years and years ago when I decided to stop buying Expansion packs for The Sims 3. As I believe Sims series has gone down the drain and is just a cash cow for EA.

To be fair, at this point EA is trying to be akin to Xbox Game Pass on PC. You get all the crap like Fifa and NBA, where it’s the same game just a different year or various Sims expansions and stuff. It’s an easy way to market the subscription like it’s getting new big titles all the time.

I doubt it is possible to make better game than original Mafia, even if they would really want to
Remake = money grab.

Especially by people who have made Mafia 3 - that’s not even game, that’s something else…

Never played the original back in the day…
Only had a crappy Celeron 700Mhz pc, with 64MB of ram and 8MB of intel integrated graphics

what a beast

Was hoping this would’ve been my chance to catch up…

Nah…I highly recommend you get your hands on original (CD version, not gog or steam version, coz they’ve removed one of absolutely best things about it - music) - it’s one of the best games ever made.

Ages like a good wine or book.

P.S. However actually you can restore music for any version https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Mafia#Restore_original_music_.28digital_versions.29 :upside_down_face:

If they even manage to pull half of this stuff off, I’d be impressed…

Been playing the current state of the game for the past week, but for now it doesn’t convince me 100%,
this add-on will be a game-changer for me (see what I did there? :joy: ), if they do it right at least…

Extremely useful list of games which use Denuvo

It’s very handy for targeting and not supporting games which do use this crap, or games which you must :pirate_flag: if you want your system and body to keep healthy
