Apparently Horizon Zero Dawn is now playable on the latest glorious egg roll.

There is a DRM that checks for the launcher in that game, so no-go on linux.

Red Dead Redemption 2

@dodgypast
Yep, that’s what i’ve heard too
It should be also playable on last wine-staging as well through Wine

LOL…and that works too.

Hitman 3

Hopefully no introduction needed…

But that’s just one side of a coin…

They’ve introduced Hitman 1, 2, 3 in VR!

Now that’s legit mind-blowing, as even without vr this is sometimes scary how atmospheric and detailed Hitman game is…

Now i really consider buying VR, coz for Half-Life Alyx it was just too much for one game, but now…

How is VR under linux, or do you mean Windo$$z?

No idea yet, but i know that is possible…
I usually always think in terms of Wine, not Windows

btw Hitman (2016), Hitman 2 (2018) and i’m sure Hitman 3 (2021) will be too - have brilliant Native Linux versions

Yep, we should be good on LInux
I’d like that Steam gear which have proper fingers touch and all that jazz

That is cool. I haven’t really looking into VR, just because of pricing and waiting for Steam to flesh it out, etc. I can’t imagine what it would be like playing some of these horror films while actually feel like being in the environment. This :poop: in my pants…on repeat.

BONEWORKS

Another game, already available, that was advised to me by those who use VR

This from a review on ‘Boneworks.’

If you have solid VR legs, you should be able to plow through the slightly choppy framerate, but I can generally only play for 30 minutes or so before nausea takes stops me.

Nausea!

Edit to add: I do not have VR legs. Are these sold separately? :joy:

You need to consult Elon Musk for neuralink upgrade :alien:

It is a sad day…

Microsoft is acquiring Bethesda Softworks parent company ZeniMax

That is a lot of titles now under their belt, including Skyrim/Elderscrolls, Fallout series, Doom, on and on. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I’m not a fan of Bethesda even as is…But now…That’s very bad news.

Skyrim is one of my favs and they are working the new one, Fallout was ok also. Oh well, everything is owned my a mega-corp these days, so I should not be so surprised.

Surprised - no
Opposed - yes

Last couple of month there is monopolization in all walks of life - that is very scary and wrong.

Hopefully this is just to take an the PlayStation 5 in the Xmas console wars and they won’t try and halt linux development. Doubtful but fingers crossed

This one is probably all about xbox. Sony has been killing Microsoft with all the exclusives for their consoles. In the long-term, this brings many exclusives to xbox/PC.

As for the impact on Linux, I don’t see much. Most(all?) of the Zenimax studios weren’t very Linux friendly to begin with.

I think you hit it on the nose re xbox. They are shoring up more titles to compete.

As for Linux, Betheda’s games were never ported to Linux directly, so no big loss there, but MS may make their RPG’s more console oriented. Every title this has happened to loses something in the PC RPG game play. You can always tell a game originated from console in feel and play. Time will tell.
