Do you use another distro?

SUSE has ordered back almost all its KDE devs, the mother distribution SLES is only available with Gnome and openSUSE has to glue KDE somehow on the top.

I am using MX Linux on one of my working laptops, the test repo is enabled. I can only say good experiences about it.

I used to run multiple distros. Haven’t found a reason to do it anymore since I started using endeavouros.

Suse had previously favored KDE in the early 2000s. Gnome may have been just a siding. For my part, I run openSUSE Tumbleweed on a virtual machine and I can say it seems pretty stable.

The Deepin Debian version is in other words Deepin itself? Because Deepin is based on Debian.

Yes it’s the Deepin distro beta 20 based on Debian. The original version 15 was based on Ubuntu.

i believe deepin 15.11 is already debian.

I knew that too.

Deepin was based on Ubuntu until version 15 and then they switched to Debian according to what i have read. Whether it’s 100% accurate i don’t know. :man_shrugging:

@ringo Deepin 15.11 was based on Debian 9. 20 will be based on Debian 10.

Nope1.

1 At least not on any computer I own and have the choice of OS. I do have a windoze7 computer in my workshop that just drives the CNC machines. And I use Debian and 'buntu at work. But all my desktops and laptops have EndeavourOS and only EndeavourOS at the moment.

I use EndeavourOS on all my machines. On on machine I have also Arch and Antergos, for various reasons. And on one machine I have EndeavourOS that uses Arch testing repos. And of course, several virtual machines with Arch these same based distros.

So, mainly Arch based stuff only. Makes my life much easier.

Using the desktop PC, Endeavour, and prefer one DE too: Mate. Not good at remembering different ways of working, shortcuts, etc, simultaneously, lol, so it helps concentration, and I like that it’s low maintenance.

Stuck with an occasional need for Windows due to games with an invasive anti-cheat engine or a mod for a game that’s overly difficult to get running. Other than that, glad to say I’m not seeing myself going back for any other reason for a while now.

What’s the deal with so many people running multiple distros? I can’t really think of any reasons outside of general interest.

On my private computers: EndeavourOS
On my server: Windows (needs to be switched to EndeavourOS/Arch)
On my work computer: Windows
On my phone: Ubuntu Touch

Also I work with CentOS servers all day long (Migration to RHEL ongoing) and I have one Windows laptop as a backup in case it is really needed (mostly firmware updates on keyboards etc…)

I am an active Manjaro maintainer of the Openbox Edition.

I am using Windows 10 in VirtualBox because I am coding applications and webservices to run on Windows and IIS.
