Might e a good idea to start from terminal to have a look at the output (errors, warnings) and open a terminal with journalctl -f (might give a hint, what is going on).
In addition to that it would be interesting to see, if Nvidia driver is loaded and running properly.
No info about DE and frameserver (wayland, X11?).
Might even be related to the bug in the latest Nvidia driver update.
