is it possible to add a keyboard layout selection in the script?
for example: I’m using Belgian Azerty, and somehow everytime I run the install script, it overwrites my initial settings back to Qwerty layout.
It allways hits me after about the 4th time the login manager says 'wrong password, try again"
This is on the to-do list. I have no experience with internationalization, so it may take a while but it is on the list.
In the mean time. Do a git clone for the EndeavourOS Arm script into a temporary folder. In the install script ‘endeavour-ARM-install-V2.0.sh’
you could edit lines 723 to 728 to use Belgian Azerty. Then copy the install-script folder to a USB thumb drive. Then when installing instead of doing a git clone, copy the install-script folder from USB drive to /root so you end up with /root/install-script/numerous_files.
I have some errands to run, when I get back I will try to play around with the exact code for the lines 725 and 727. Unless you already have it figured out.
I just copied over my 00-keyboard.conf file from my existing install on my OdroidN2+,
so it wasn’t a big deal for me right now, but I remember it took a lot of googling the first time I encountered this
@Pudge, I’ll look into it and try to learn something and help if I can.
@Krimkerre, your unique OSenstein, ManjeavourOS, sounds pretty diabolic indeed.
The Pinebook Pro doesn’t have an Ethernet port, but it has USB-C and with an adapter it connects to Ethernet. I used Ethernet to install Arch base and everything else.
I went to the pine64.org site, and unless I am missing something they are not accepting orders for the Pinebook 64 pro laptop at this time. I was there about three weeks earlier, and at that time they were taking pre-orders to be delivered around Thanksgiving (November 25th in US). I even had one in my cart, but I didn’t pull the trigger as I am not a fan of pre-ordering.
I totally agree, it’s a great machine, I’d buy one again.
In the September community update (they make one such communication every month) the delay is explained as lack of LCD panels from their trusted vendor. And the LCD they come with is just great. They say they hope to ship two batches before February but currently, yeah, they’re out of stock. Here’s said update: https://www.pine64.org/2020/09/15/september-update-let-it-sink-in/
The October community update brings some news about the Pinebook Pro availability: “According to some projections LCD panels ought to be available again in December. Granted this projection is accurate, we may see new batches available prior to the Chinese New Year (February 2021). I will, of course, keep you updated on the situation in future community updates.”
Do you mean the RockPro64? Or a Pinebook Pro? RockPro64 sound nicely specced and it must have been around 60 €, right?
What Viktor’s “child” lacked was love, the bastard became a monster after human rejection, not because he was made out of dead parts and stuff, I think that was one of the “lessons” if one wants to extract such a thing.
it’s the RockPro64, and it was more around the 90 € mark…
Bought my Odroid N2+ for the same price shortly after, and it hugely outperforms it…
The RockPro64 also seems to dislike my automatic HDMI-splitter that I use to connect all my devices to 1 monitor…
the screen appears wavy, and at half resolution, so for this particular board I allways have to swap hdmi cables in the back of my monitor
Haven’t found an easy way to overclock it too for some extra performance, except from compiling your own kernel, which I haven’t tried yet;;
