[ 20.031] randr: falling back to unsynchronized pixmap sharing

I have seen other issues with XP pen, nvidia drivers and Endeavour OS, but these both are not happening on my system. The tablet display works fine, it draws with pen pressure and the calibration is correct. It just randomly crashes when I even have it plugged in. I use the libwacom tablet driver, not the xp pen proprietary driver and connect it to my computer using this method.

My system details:
Nvidia RTX 3060
Proprietary nvidia driver
Kernel 6.11.7-arch1-1

Just by take a brief look at these logs … I was wondering why amdgpu is called as well as NVIDIA drivers. Do you have an AMD CPU with integrated graphics ?

Furthermore, the method which you’ve linked to get this device running seems to be a bit more sophisticated and based on X11. Are you running a X11 session explicitly ? Just asking as wayland may cause some troubles.

Additionally, in the article that guy is using the Liquorix kernel for eBPF support which wasn’t included in he Debian 12 Bookworm release he is using. And he states that he doesn’t update his kernel and keeps it at that version to avoid stability issues. But it seems like you’re using the regular Arch kernel ?

Yes, my CPU has integrated graphics. it is a ryzen 7 7700X. I use X11. I just use the plain arch kernel, whatever Endeavour OS ships.

You could try to deactivate the iGPU within the BIOS of your system and to remove the related AMDGPU drivers.
But I can’t really tell if that’s an issue related to these random crashes / freezes.

Furthermore, I don’t know if the plain arch kernel includes the eBPF support which would allow for the udev-hid-bpf things required to make the tablet work.

Yep, disabling the iGPU in my BIOS fixed it. Thanks!
Marking this as fixed now.
