Drawing Tablet not displaying anything, freezes system and etc

Hi all,

I have been using EOS for about 6 months on my AMD machine worked like a charm but now something is weird.

I have a 4k drawing tablet. With x11 there are minor issues with the pen precision is off. On Wayland it’s perfect spot on.

  1. Anyway out of nowhere my drawing tablet stopped displaying on Wayland.
  2. When I turn on the tablet, the system just freezes and making multiple USB connection sounds.
  3. On boot I started seeing amd_pstate: min_freq(0) or max_freq(0) or nominal_freq(0) value is incorrect (this same message is displayed 10 times) and finishes with amd_pstate: failed to register with return -19

This message was not there before. I also tried to update the system but same thing is still happening.

On x11 the tablet turns on and displays but as I said above it has problem with pen. On Wayland it was working perfectly, but now it just not working for no reason.

I also tied sudo reinstall-kernels and nothing

Update:
Okay out of nowhere the tablet now works on Wayland after couple of reboots and switching from Wayland to X11 to Wayland.

Still though that message worries me and I have noticed it only appears when I load with 6.11.2-arch1-1 kernel.

My PC:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 Series
Kernel: 6.11.2-arch1-1

This looks like the new kernel just has an issue then.

There is no guarantee that the next kernel update will fix this issue, so it would be a good idea to send a bug report to the Arch maintainers or upstream.
