Wifi icon spins but disconnects, got tplink tn_wn823n with kernel support 2.6.18 ~ 3.10.10. I tried installing new driver but still not working

This worked, somehow in a fuck this worked. But speed is slow maybe that is because of signal strength but It does connects and sites tries to load

$8 is pretty good. Is it working okay now?

Fine as fiddle. I think you can close this topic now I dont think I will get into problem though is there any way I can load module right into kernel without rebooting I want to try it on a live system before I am truely satisfied, I dont wanna install another system now, did many in past few days.

I don’t think so. If it works then should be okay.

My bad, I found it here :

For V2 & V3 see: rtl8192EU Linux Driver Installation

Instead for the Legacy V1: It should work Out-of-Box with the bundled rtl8xxxu Module.

I had the same problem with my interface, it was a bit slow, it was more because of the reception sensitivity than the signal strength.

Yes on this site it say’s v1 should work out of the box with the kernel module rtl8xxxu. V2 v3 use rtl8192eu. Problem is it’s not always known what version the chip may be. I just go by the hardware it shows and look it up as best i can. I use a lot of TP-Link cards but they ALL have broadcom chips and they are internal Pci-e cards for desktop. If i am going to purchase a usb i look at what WiFi standard it supports. They do not tell you what chip it has. You can only determine that by plugging it in and getting the info. I try to get one that supports more updated standards. No less than 802.11 AC Anything i would purchase today would be 802.11 AX for the most part.
