Which dependencies of Vulkan do I Install with Steam?

Hi, I just installed Endeavour and I’m a little nervous about navigating through it.

Naturally I want to install Steam, but I’m confused about the dependeices (I have an AMD CPU & GPU)

1.) Do I install native runtime?

2.) Who should be my Vulkan provider? amdvlk? But I can also choose vulkan-radeon. Which one is correct?

3.) Same for lib32-vulkan-driver: lib32-amdvlk? Or lib32-vulkan-radeon?

There are other options (though those two listed make the most sense to me), should I opt for those instead? Like there are nvdia and intel options, along with swrast and virtio (whatever they are).

Thanks

Do not install the native runtime, pick vulkan-radeon and lib32-vulkan-radeon.

I only use steam
Arch Linux - steam 1.0.0.78-2 (x86_64)
and then…
Arch Linux - vulkan-radeon 1:23.3.3-1 (x86_64)
Arch Linux - lib32-vulkan-radeon 1:23.3.3-1 (x86_64)
Start there.

Read the requirements section and you’re good to go.

P.S. For AMD it’s best to use AMD RADV according to out users

Ah, thanks I got a little worried becuase it sounded like you were recommending something else. But clicking on the link it reinforces to choose the vulkan-radeon option (which everyone else seems to have said also)

Thanks

steam-native can be used (for me it leads to games running with better performance) but it can also cause issues for some games (I have not experienced any issues in the last 2-3 years with the native runtime) - if you have issues when using the native runtime you can simply start steam by using the non-native launcher and check if the issue also happens there

Yeah i need to add results into the guide, i’m a bit busy right now…but i’ll get into it :upside_down_face:
