After the last week with EOS Xfce, I’m back to EOS Plasma.
Last few weeks I am on KDE, but thinking about Bspwm
On my Gaming Laptop only EOS Cinnamon.
And on my litle office notebook with openSUSE, Pantheon (the elementary os DE) and cinnamon.
plasma is nicer graphically as well as for more intuitive use.
counts bspwm and xmonad?
We need new poll for WM xD
I use i3wm a lot.
But then my job needs me to share the screen for presentation. I have a thought that if I use i3wm, my co-worker will think I’m a hardcore. So I use Cinnamon, customize it to make it elegance. Then I notice it start weird with my dual monitor setup, so I change to KDE. It only a few months since I use KDE, so far I love it, there’s so many options.
Can’t get enough KDE?
Edit:
Back to Xfce. At least I’m only DE hopping, rather than distrohopping
I find the main reason for DE hopping is something that irritates the )(*&^ out of you. This is why I keep ending up with XFCE - it may not do everything, but it doesn’t seem to do anything WRONG either
Of course, this is after CSD is cancelled out
Yes, libxfce4ui-nocsd is essential.
That’s the one I’m using, but I think I have gtk3-nocsd-git in another build…
xfce for life
Running Gnome here, since I have a 2-in-1 laptop, and out of the box Gnome is prolly the best for touchscreens. Not entirely loving it, I usually do i3 or a more traditional style WM although I have been known to use UKUI at times.
Right now I’m running Deepin. I have not had any problems. I do have Cinnamon as a backup tho. I know I said I had no desire to switch from cinnamon, but then I saw Deepin
I come from Linux Mint, so i’m very used to Cinnamon, i feel myself very comfy with this DE.
I was always bouncing back and forth KDE and XFCE mostly. Just stuck to XFCE for simplicity as spend most of time in web browser.
No widgets, no desktop shortcuts, no taskbar pins etc just blank.
Would be interested in a new DE and WM poll
just my opinion . what point of poll? People should use what fit their need , no what people fav.
use what work for you + be happy
Similar to poll here. Just out of pure curiosity rather than what is right or wrong.
KDE for me on my laptop - i really love how configurable it is, I don’t need anything crazy minimalist (even though KDE is pretty minimal anymore). I use XFCE on my old Lenovo pc that I use for music production due to its utilitarian design, but on my daily driver laptop I want something sleek and shiny
