Which browser do you mainly use?

Librewolf has their own. They are not using arkenfox.

I dont understand the Benchmarking and “wow what great performance” too.

Yea, sure, on Paper and symetric tests, chrome is faster.

But first, you must compare “google dev power” to mozillas, and than of course the influence of google on the internet.

If you wanna be sarcastic, you could say every webdeveloper/app/whatever says: “first chrome, all other can die”.

But if you are realistic, who cares? Most people have a Machine with atleast the first generation i3, i5, i7. And you can say about intel what you want, but that was a huuuuge step into speed/realibity.

For me self, i have for example as Mediapc a first generation i7 on my TV. With a GTX980. And if i open Firefox or Chromium, there is literally no difference (for me) in usage. Sure, firefox needs maybe 0.5 longer to start, but as soon its loaded into ram, i dont feel the difference.

On the early, really early days, yes, there was a big difference thats why chrome got so quick a big userbase. But nowadays?

Today i say: If you didnt care about datacollecting, privacy, tracking etc, use what ever comforts you.

For me self, i use ungoogled-chromium too. The last thing what would make ungoogled-chromium perfect for me, would be a option to delete all history, cookies, etc at closing. But this isnt until today not possible (it exist only one extension, wich can do that on browser start).

But maybe anytime soon. Or if i get time to conigure librewolf so, that it works for me.

Right, however they do use or rather “rely heavily” on Arkenfox’ …

This also isn’t Arkenfox. Arkenfox is a template user.js, fully documented, and the gold-standard on relevant Firefox preferences. We rely heavily on Arkenfox’s expertise, research, and knowledge, but we choose our own default preferences configuration. We endeavor to keep up to date with Arkenfox.

Not that hard if you could imagine using:

https://www.linuxfx.org/

Too many strikes against it. Looks like Windows, Feels like Windows, has Edge browser, Based off Ubuntu and is lts! :face_vomiting:

Also from Distrowatch’s review:

I had a similar wary reaction when I noticed opening either of Linuxfx’s default web browsers automatically opens a second tab which loads the distribution’s information page on DistroWatch. Maybe this is done to provide more information on the distribution or maybe it is a failed attempt to boost Linuxfx’s page hit ranking. (DistroWatch filters such attempts from its statistics.) Either way, I question the motives and the usefulness to the user of having this second tab open.

One thing most of you guys won’t be knowing is that manjaro doesn’t accept public merge requests which suckess. You have to create a issue then give a patch/diff there. It is just a so called foss linux distro but most if not all there dicisions are taken by philm and that is a bad thing. This is true to this day. I don’t see it existing in 10 years if philm doesn’t stop this practice. ex manjaroers know what i am talking about.

So stop recommending it.

So…am I the only one still using Mosaic?

  • Ultra-lightweight
  • You don’t need to block javascript, html5 or anything else really
  • Static html documents load(or fail) nearly instantly
  • Full support for the “X Window System”(It is literally in the logo)
