We have many similar topics on other subjects. This one is just strange because it is such a bizarre subset of browsers.

Hopefully the community won’t turn it into a flame war.

Hopefully and I have experience in these threads I started my Endeavour here by posting something very similar. Remember @dalto  I’m pretty sure I was flagged a lot.

the new chromium update on 2022-01-23 for version 97.0.4692.99-2 broke the theming in incognito mode (using breeze dark):

@dalto which browser you use?

Several but primarily Firefox.

I just wish Vivaldi officially supported more distros, a Flatpak option would be awesome in my opinion. (they only have .deb and .rpm in their website)

I think it only comes pre installed on manjaro cinnamon community edition.

does anyone one the archforum know how to get dark mode without extensions?

It comes pre-installed in other distros like FerenOS (ubuntu base)

Vivaldi is also in the Arch repos.

There are parts of it that are not open source. Which, for all intents and purposes, means that Vivaldi is not open source.

If you cannot build it locally from source code, that means it’s not open source.

I take Chromium and Vivaldi for Google sites like youtube and forum sites, where I do only things Google can track, then have Falkon for banking,
Firefox Develop for Coding tasks, Firefox for Netflix, Basilisk for shopping … that means browser isolation for different groups of use …

No browser can match the scrolling smoothness to Firefox. Not sure what magic they’ve done but it’s so damn fluid.

Let me know if this is possible on chrome based browser.

Any specific Firefox hardened profile recommendations?

I’ve been using this one for some time

Me too!

If I am not mistaken, this one is used in Librewolf (or some user.js based on this one).

You are absolutely right. I had to get this extension for chromium to have a decent speed:

Imagine using Linux, then using Edge as a browser.
