Dos XX amber. Very likely my last one here with you all. @Stagger_Lee I can’t message you, so it’s past last call and this one goes to you and the good times.
Thanks for all the help over the years.
Cheers bud.

Get yourself one of these
They are reasonably priced and readily available on Amazon or wherever you would otherwise shop online
Wit’s Up from Citizen Cider (Burlington, Vermont USA). Obviously I’m in a cider mood lately
.
I got a little wordy so TLDR: This is a very good and interesting dry cider that’s made with Belgian Wit beer yeast.
There is a slight sweetness to the aroma, but that is deceiving. There’s no sweetness on the tongue.
It’s quite dry and moderately crisp, with minimal tartness or astringency. There’s a hint of lemon rind that is intriguing. The flavor is better when just slightly chilled or at room temperature, it’s more muted when cold.
The star of the show is the Belgian Wit yeast and malolactic cultures. This isn’t a wild Brettanomyces funk or a yeasty bread flavor; it tastes comfortably old, somewhat reminiscent of old books and leather chairs. The yeast also brings a beer-like quality.
This is a very, very good dry cider that keeps one’s interest sip after sip.
This is an odd thing to say, but here goes: this somehow manages to taste like Vermont. Seriously. If you’ve ever been to Vermont…this tastes like the state. I can’t really explain how
, but it does.
Vermont sure doesn’t taste like Cleveland, that’s for sure. It’s hard to un-taste Cleveland; stuff of nightmares.
All the sugary stuff lately making one of us giddy :). You need a Bock.
I assure you, the Wit’s Up and the Arlo ciders aren’t sugary/sweet at all. Both are very dry, and both are rather beer-like. And both are excellent.
But a little bit of sweet cider is a nice change of pace every now and then. I wouldn’t want it constantly, but occasionally I find it nice - as long as it’s not too sweet.
Those nightmares gave us the great band Pere Ubu, so I can forgive Cleveland
.
Agreed. I’ve changed it up with Cider before. Cheers.
For years people have been drinking whiskey out of normal glasses. This is why people get put off from trying new things. I will continue drinking whiskey from the same glass I drink rum and brandy from. To each their own but telling people they are drinking whiskey wrong is a huge ick for me. @joekamprad also though I feel he was just messing about.
Pineapple and coconut juice for me today.
yes i do not care about correct glasses. also i do like nice glasses.
I certainly did not mean any offense, but simply made a suggestion to try what is in my opinion and others online, the Glencairn, being among the best glassware to enjoy any high proof spirit, be it whiskey or rum, to accentuate its smell and taste, whether neat or with a bit of water
The best way to enjoy any spirit is to drink it in the manner of how one wants to drink it. Let me emphasize, there is no “wrong way”
I wish you well in your whiskey and rum journey and many years of enjoyment
Also note that Laphroaig is one of my absolute favorites and I enjoy the annual Cairdeas releases immensely
