i am pretty torn between kitty and ghostty and i honestly don’t know which one to pick they are both great. i gave alacritty a try but i can’t get it to show custome png images for fastfetch in wayland so i decided against that. i honestly don’t know what one i am going to stick with (kitty or ghostty).
yakuake is good to but i will use that along with ghostty or kitty which ever i decide on using
@anon91115920, this thread is 4 years old. The last response is August 2020. It would be better idea to start a new thread. Necrobumping ancient threads is frowned upon.
Since the thread bounce above brought this vintage topic back to life… it made me feel less geezerly to note that my clear preference for konsole is also the choice of some folks who clearly know what they’re doing. [Does everything I need from an emulator without much fuss.]
Makes me feel like I’m not just a clueless old-schooler (… though I may still be clueless )
This seems like a topic worth revisiting over time, especially when new options become available. GhostTTY really isn’t my thing, but I enjoy seeing the ways other users interact with their systems.
Personally, I’ve used tilix for years, though I’ve been using konsole and yakuake more recently because of Plasma’s terminal integration with Dolphin,
That is my exact setup, used to be zsh, but fish is quicker to setup.
I dabbled with ghostty, I liked it, but I am an emacs guy, like to use ctrl+c to copy, kitty can “do both”, ghostty ctrl+c does not work in emacs if ctrl+c set to copy.
Once you set up zsh (which you already did) you never have to do it again . I have been using the same config across several machines with minimal changes over the years.
