What games are you playing?

Universal feeling

I recently got my VR working, so I’ve been checking out what games of mine work. I played Affected, The Manor, which is a trip through a haunted house. It’s very good because the detail and sense of immersion is there thanks largely to the lighting – the effect of the flashlight (and one should always go into a haunted house with a flickering flashlight) is very convincing.

Phasmophobia doesn’t work in VR as I think I need an openxr runtime for it. Unity-based. Sorting that out.

Gorn works. That’s a cartoony gladiator game with a fanatically weird sense of comedy – a guy attacked me whose chosen weapon were two snarling badgers. I actually damaged my first VR headset playing this game because I punched a guy who was twice my height and ended up punching the light fixture which fell and his the headset.

Dungeon Knight VR. This game is abandoned, but largely complete. You can explore puzzle or combat dungeons as a knight, barbarian, wizard, archer … or gunslinger. In one room I was in a trap with the a ceiling of spikes coming down on me and I ducked right to the floor to try and avoid dying whilst I tried to find the last destroyable gear which would save me. Squish.

A regular game I like is Star Trucker – basically delivering cargo through space. Nice and zen, just you and the open road (well, space), listening to your radio or mp3s or audiobooks as you deliver cargo units from one system to another. Sadly my cloud saves didn’t come down from Steam when I switched to Endeavor, so I’ve got to begin again with the default truck. But I wanted to start a new game anyway, so no biggie.

trivia-quiz from the AUR

Been a gamer since the late 80’s, sadly had to use windows for a long time. The state of gaming on Linux has improved so much I no longer have a Windows install and game 100% on Linux. Titles include: too many titles on Steam to list, on Lutris I play WoW, Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2, Witcher 3, Stardew Valley. I’ve only found a couple of really old titles that don’t play at all, like MOHAA.

long time ago. This was one of my first real Multiplayer experience with a Clan

At the moment i play Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Can not say that much, still in tutorial campaign.

At the moment i play RoboCop: Rogue City, didn’t expect i would like it. The story seems very similar to the movie

Most of my time I spend with The Elder Scrolls Online

I love the story, but you need to spend a lot of time with it and do it in the right order to fully understand it, which most players dont know, and yes the beginning (base game) is rough (and a bit boring) but once you get to the DLCs it gets so much better, and everything is a bit connected so npcs will recognize you!

Some Screenshots from Elseweyr (North+South)

Some from Skyrim (Western+Markarth)

Some from Blackwood and Deadlands

Can you tell I like photographing? Even in games I try to get the perfect shot
Ive been collecting these screenshots over the years, and there is still more to explore in this game 5 or more new zones came out while I was doing these, so I’m not done by far

I also play other games like the Oblivion Remaster every now and then

I also play some Nintendo games like MarioKart (Ds, Wii, 7, 8, 8Deluxe and now World) and also other stuff from that company but its a bit annoying (just like them) to get those screenshots and put them here…

So enjoy that Starfield creepy space face photo instead

(these photos are all made on EndeavourOS btw)

After finishing Stellar Blade for the 5th time (New Game++++) (4 x Normal, last on Hard), I’ve started playing Code Vein again, which I bought and played in 2019. Unfortunately I never finished it why I don’t know anymore. I hope I can finally finish the game

Screenshot Code Vein:

Edited little screenshot from Stellar Blade:

Here is the outfit (from the New Game++) that my Eve wore last. I’ll put it in a spoiler because it’s a bit “revealing”.

Never heard of it, watched the video on steam and added it to my wishlist. Ill wait for a discount, i don’t know if this game is something i would like.

There is also a free Demo. Give it a try if you want.

Edit: You can also transfer the savegame from the demo to the normal game as far as I know it.

I bought it in a sale (for 39,99 € normal it is @49,99 €) and am now playing it after finishing Code Vein. In my opinion, it’s not as bad as some people say. The graphics may not be the freshest anymore, but the gameplay and story are a lot of fun.

After almost 2 years I am still playing X4 in the creative custom game editor mode. It never gets boring.

I know the feeling about replaying certain games, i played the Mass Effect Trilogy 14 times to the end (yeah no life in the past :stuck_out_tongue: ) … I also have the same with Starship Troopers Terran Ascendancy. Some games are worth playing so many times and never get bored.

I am a old gamer, i love playing offline singleplayer games. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is a favorite of mine as well because of the great story behind it (like Mass Effect trilogy).

KOTOR 1 & 2 are one of the best games I’ve played.

Kreia is my favorite character in the KOTOR saga.

Anyway, in addition to Homeworld 3 and Dune: Awakening, I’ve replayed the old Gabriel Knight saga. I’m playing the first chapter via ScummVM.
