What are good tv series to watch?

Love, Death & Robots is a series of independent, dystopic short stories (10-20 min each). I found that very entertaining when I first saw it.

My personal highlights from season 1: “Helping Hand” and “Beyond the Aquila Rift”

Hi Joe,

I recently visited your article on crime shows (What are good tv series to watch?) and thought the way you covered the different types of crime shows was really interesting. It’s always great to see recommendations for shows to watch.

One area that I think would be worth exploring further is the concept of crime shows that are based on real-life cases. While it’s common for crime shows to be fictional, there are actually quite a few shows out there that are based on real events. Shows like “Mindhunter” and “Manhunt: Unabomber” delve into the minds of real-life criminals and the investigations that brought them to justice. I think your readers would find it fascinating to learn about these shows and the real cases that inspired them.

Would you consider checking out a complete article on crime shows based on real-life cases for publication on your site? I’d be happy to send something over that explores this unique subgenre of crime television. It would be a great way to provide your audience with a fresh perspective on crime shows and introduce them to some hidden gems that they may not have heard of before.

Best,

I have been watching Catch me a killer on Alibi in UK:

About the first female profiler Micki Pistorius in South Africa (yes, Aunt of Oscar, oh the irony!!).

South Africa has had some of the most prolific serial killers  (still can’t beat Harold Shipman ).

I recently watched the BBC documentary “The Space Shuttle That Fell to Earth” about the Columbia disaster and I was stunned by the way the makers created this documentary. It was so respectfully done and not shouty and cheap sensational at all.
Especially for anyone in the UK or has access to BBC iPlayer, this one is highly recommended. (I recorded the show when it originally aired on BBC Two)

This review sums up this mini-series very well.

I’m hoping this will be good

The novel on which this is based was good.
I have seen the first two episodes and the TV series is also very promising.

Fallout sure is a good tv series. Had no hopes and it turned out to be one of the best game adaptations until now. Generally Amazon has a pretty good track record when it comes to good movies and series in the last years.

Have just finished watching a Danish series called Nordland '99. Pretty dark and intense but does more to build a story in the first 20 mins than some series do in an hour.

Dexter, King of Tulsa, Tracker and Cross are all good. Dexter: Original Sin starts tomorrow.

This is absolutely amazing. One of the best TV dramas I’ve seen in years. And Colin Farrell is unrecognizable as the Penguin.

I’m late to the party again.

I’d echo Breaking Bad, the BBC Sherlock, and the first season of Money Heist (Spanish original). Better Call Saul, The Sinner, and Black Mirror have some good moments and some less so. Earlier in his career, the creator of Black Mirror wrote a hilarious BBC comedy, Coupling; the original is definitely worth a watch.

More recently, I highly recommend KAOS, unfortunately cancelled before its time, as a mystery for the viewer to solve. In that way, it reminded me of The Prisoner (the original), a classic. Also along mythological lines, try Penny Dreadful, a mash-up of horror genres all in one show, with much for the viewer to figure out.

Black Doves looks interesting so far, though there is a laughable scene where a government official’s laptop is left on and unlocked in his room so a spy can copy his data as he sleeps after sex…

In the UK, government laptops and documents are regularly left on public transport so for us, it’s more believable.
