What application have you recently discovered?

Very nice. Seems this is my results on the browsers I use.

I’ve given up on Slimjet.

I didnt know the browser i use for years now has randomized fingerprint.. ill gladly take it though  never learn out

Have some old gog games I wanted to play, so I installed lutris which ran ok, but none of the game would start. Rather than try to troubleshoot, I found an app, minigalaxy, and tried that, and all the games installed, and run just fine.

Latest application installed is Easy Effects to boost sound in various applications.

Gotta say it works very well and the difference is noticeable. Recommend for sure.

I found a graphical package manager for Arch Linux that looks better than Pamac and Octopi, I don’t use it but thought I would share it here in case someone else is looking for something like this.

There was a discussion about it in this topic a few weeks ago. I didn’t test it but the general consensus didn’t seem positive.

You can see the back and forth on it here:

Shelly definitely seems to have improved lately. Design has changed, more intuitive…

Particularly good if you use Flatpak apps.

Wow how did you get a randomized fingerprint?

Table made with OnlyOffice.

I had no idea that OnlyOffice could edit PDFs.

I just tested it and it is does a pretty great job actually. It has real support for redaction which I haven’t found in any other free Linux tool. It can also do real editing of a PDF.(i.e. Replacing text or images).

replacing communication (discord etc) is difficult. because if job/friends/family/guilds in games have no interest at all to switch you are stuck.
So in this case i am forever stuck with discord.. and hope i never have to verify my age… knocking on wood, so far it hasnt happened to me

me neither, just tried it out with a LyX in pdflatex generated file, quite awesome, you can treat it as if it’s a Word document, while keeping the typography etc.

EDIT:

WPS offers PDF editing, too.

Not really sure, I just use ublock origin and webrtc on helium-browser but get the same results with FF.

For PDF editing, I installed BentoPDF in a LXC container on my Proxmox server so it can be run as a web-app on every machine in the house. It’s in the AUR, so can be installed locally too.

Helium services are required, it seems. Test results are negative, if de-activated.

Been getting the same results with FF. but Helium is my main browser.

I would like to also mention xournalpp for handwritten note taking. https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/xournalpp/
